While she does ALL the complaining, she refuses to get a job and or help with the finances that come with raising their daughter. she didn't want to add the angst of having two people fall in love with each other with such interconnected pasts. He was unhappy but trying to be the best father and husband and she was pretty happy even though their spouses were awful people, until they died there were no clues about their sordid shit. I liked her and how she owned her desire to be a stay at home mom, but she was kind of bitchy to begin with.Poignant to the point of acute pain, a story about love lost with no closure, be prepared to cry in frustration all through. not gonna lie, the main reason i picked up FROM THE EMBERS was because of that angsty as hell synopsis.
