About this deal

Peach is a powdery fruit, but on my skin this is not at all powdery like Fancy Love , all peachy talc (I love powdery scents but not soapy). For some reason it reminded me of my aunt's bathroom from the 1970's and I could never get past that. Today while doing an "in the morning before showering" sampling of this EDT I can't stop smelling the back of my hand.

red roses and peaches, I feel also the lilac and some orchid, a bit heavy (but perfect for me) strong and long lasting. The general smell of this is a sophisticated blend of the Winner's Circle Red Roses - and one of my all time favorite candies - Red Hots! This would be the perfect concentration for late summer and early fall when the days are still warm but you’re ready to reach for your fall fragrances. Opens quite intense, filling the air with a trail of what others have described as "churchy", rich incensy and aromatic. Diamonds and Rubies is a fine rose; the perfect rose subdued by rich, warm spices and premium silky powder.

I think of a scene from a movie where a lady sings a sultry jazz tune in front of a grand piano in a long fancy dress. Dressed to kill, something spicy was had for dinner, or perhaps a spice cake/peach tart for dessert, the garden is in full bloom and our dear Liz is holding her liquor and has a boozy peach drink in her hand.

As time goes on, it's looking like my favorite of the bunch is Diamonds and Sapphires, which is surprising, because it has that loud melon note. Sophia Grojsman the most distinguished perfumer and nose in the industry created this beautiful rose perfume for Elizabet Taylor in 1993.I love the warm, spicy notes and like another commenter said if you like Tresor you will most likely like this, and I love Tresor. Also many here said it'd be similar to Trésor, there's no peach, no lily of the valley type of vibe, no fruitiness, so I wouldn't even listen to these reviews, completely out of touch. If I didn't know better when I sprayed this on, I would have sworn on a stack of Bibles that the fragrance I'm wearing is the erstwhile Sun Moon Stars by Karl Lagerfeld (from all those many eons ago).

The peach is like peach syrup and it comes through in the opening and stays strong throughout the performance of the perfume, enveloping those multi colored florals. Wait before you judge this fragrance when first spraying on because my initial response was a no like until a few minutes went by and then it was wow I love it. It's like someone smelled the parfum and thought it was all about Christmas smell and formulated the eau de toilette based on that, but it misses so many luxurious notes, as if the heart was literally ripped out of it. This is not something I can say about Diamonds and Sapphires, which is incredibly powerful on me (all the lily and melon). Strong echoes of Volupte (which is more green), Tresor (which is lighter, brighter, less spicy) and Charlie Gold.Although clove is not among the notes in particular I storngly smell it in this perfume and that's not a good thing for me, unfortunatelly. I feel like someone I knew wore this because when I got it I sprayed it on a mohair sweater hanging in my closet and I just wanted to go in and bury my face in it. The alcohol synthetic smell is starting to dissipate but the spices are so overwhelming I can't smell anything else. Those then blend w/ that lush peach, spices, powdery heliotrope, other florals and that sweet vanilla to create soft, dark red velvet magic! As for comparisons I would say Tresor by Lancome it's different, yes they share the peach and the way it is used, but here I feel it is more sweet; in Tresor you get that "peach's skin or is it skin like peaches?

As the scent develops I smell the dusty, orangey powder of Dana Navy; and in the heart I swear I detect a hint of the warm, almost root-beer spices of Tabu. White Diamonds, Passion and Diamonds and Emeralds are my other ET fragrances that I own Emeralds is my favourite as I love Tuberose and Gardenia but Rubies is beautiful. Diamonds and Rubies peripherally offers up the fruitier notes in sweet little sparkles that convey high quality. It’s sweet without being too saccharine in a way that reminds me little of the parfum version of Red Door.Diamonds and Rubies is a little bit fuzzier than Hermès Rouge, but that seems to be a Sophia Grojsman watermark. My boyfriend smelt it and said it smells like ‘falooda’ which is a milky, ice creamy, rose water cold desert. This perfume is very very similar to Fancy Love Jessica Simpson, I might say it's an absolute twin perfume to it. great for the spring/summer -- but could also be a clean, clear type ice princess vibe for the winter months.
