The RC-5 is the same size as the two above pedals, but you’ll instantly notice a big change with the pedal’s interface as shown below. Lastly, the RC-1 has both stereo inputs and outputs. This might not seem like a big deal, but it can come in very handy. MIDI gives you an easy way to sync up multiple pedals and instruments. In this guide, I’ll go through each of the above pedal’s features and explain who each pedal may or may not suit.Like most instruction manuals for various kinds of technology, I find the instructions to be unclear or just not explained as well as they could be, although, BOSS does a decent job. Either way, I’ve taken it upon myself to really guide you through all of its features. At first glance, it looks like the RC-10R and RC-30 do the same thing. They both have a strong focus on rhythms and two footswitches.

You probably don’t want to need to bend down to adjust your pedals in a performance.You can see you have important features such as microphone input, MIDI control, external footswitch control, etc. The BOSS RC-500 was released in 2020 and while the name implies that it’s a bigger and better pedal than the RC-300, it definitely doesn’t look it at first. There’s clearly a big difference between the RC-3 and RC-30. The RC-30 is also almost twice the price of the RC-3. So the big question for you is whether the extra control and features built into the RC-30 are worth it to you.
