And there were countless cups of tea or favourite foods or hearty meals and what seemed to be almost instant deep friendships.A place where a group of twelve ladies live and work and her June likes to help women in need and it's a type of half-way house.

Alice always felt like she was waiting for something that’s just never going to come, in the end she discovers whats missing and it’s due to the big secret that's been kept from her and she can't keep running forever. When tragedy strikes nine year old Alice Hart is given no choice but to leave her only home she knows by the seaside and go and live with her estranged grandmother, June who was a flower farmer. And this scene: At first light, June rose from bed, slid her feet into her Blundstones and went silently through the house to the back door. Granted, the whole book is not like this, and things improve when the action moves from the flower farm out into the desert, but there are enough instances that it crosses the line from sweet to sappy.Although there are many moving parts in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, everything leads back to the fire that overtook Alice's childhood home and killed her parents, Clem and Agnes.
