About this deal

The characters are either horrible, or they're dealing with something horrible that was caused by the horrible characters. The author reckons that the downstairs/upstairs element of historical country house murder mysteries set in the 1920s exist in modern society.

Hannah and her husband Charlie are guests of Jules, as Charlie is her childhood best friend, but Hannah is suspicious of how close the friends are and retreats to a cave, where she meets Jules's younger half sister, Olivia. You can’t go into The Guest List with a similar expectation as this isn’t really a murder mystery – we don’t even know the identity of the murder victim until the 92% mar. I had also guessed hannah’s sister’s disgusting boyfriend and Olivia’s unfaithful love interest must have been the same guy coz of the behaviour pattern mentioned.I wondered if the author meant that to be final, or if she meant to leave open the possibility that the truth would come out. The blurb likens this to an Agatha Christie novel as there are similarities to Christie’s most popular novel, And Then There Were None, with guests invited to a remote island where a murderer lurks. It is also important to know that the best man, Johnno, is quite mad at Will because he was also up for that series and learned through Will’s agent that Will talked Johnno down and got his name taken out of contention for the TV show. Good Housekeeping and The Washington Post praised the tension, which was described by the former as "building [.

The most critical thing to know about Will is that he is something of a media star currently starring in a ‘survival-type’ of TV reality series.

And soon, Kate learns about the dark past and comes to discover a profoundly romantic story spanning for decades. The cell phone service may be spotty, and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed. The story takes place at the wedding of Jules Keegan and Will Slater, which is being held on an island off the coast of Ireland. Moving backward and forward through time, and cutting between the perspectives of various characters, the guests arrive on the island, which is owned by Aoife, a wedding planner, and her husband Freddy, a chef. I'm no stranger to multiple perspective books; however, the format didn't do any favors for this book.

And the “adults” in this book were so fucking up their own petty, self-entitled, insecure, trend-setting asses that there was no time for actually noticing. It was a perfectly fine book, and it has all the right ingredients for a good murder mystery whodunnit - creepy and claustrophobic atmosphere, multiple suspects with motive to kill, loads of secrets threatening to be revealed, and five intriguing narrators to move the story along, all wrapped up in a big festive occasion. And wonderful part is till the end of the book we are left in the dark and we have no idea who is death or the identity of perpetrator.I understand this is to build intrigue and suspense - good mysteries do that - but since I didn’t like any of the characters, by the time the victim was revealed, I just didn’t really care. I felt the inter-mingling back stories were pretty well constructed (Hannah’s was a bit too coincidental however) and 3/5 POVS were very relatable (Hannah again was my favorite by the way! Jules is worrying about a anonymous note that warns her not to marry Will, her bridesmaid, her sister Olivia, is a fragile self harming wreck.
