on the one side i was fascinated because i also followed the JBR case to closely IRL… but on the other side, i was bored because i’ve heard all that before. There are so many inconsistencies in this book and I know once again I am an outlier and have down rated this wildly popular novel. T]he Wakarusa gossip chain would flap their jaws, chewing the tidbit over so thoroughly that by the time they’d finally spat it out again, the Truth was misshapen and unrecognizable, warped into the Story.

The storyline was clearly inspired by real-life events of at least one real-life crime, that of JonBenét Patricia Ramsey. She’s a journalist and takes an interest in a child abduction that looks similar to an unsolved murder of her best friend January when she was just 6 years old. ANNNNNND my biggest gripe of all: she doesn’t reveal what happens to the main character and the story is left unresolved. Krissy struggles with mourning her daughter and concealing a secret: She believes her son, Jace, killed his twin, and Krissy tried to cover it up by spray-painting the message on the kitchen wall.The initial article she submits is more of an Anniversary story about January than it is an investigative piece about Natalie. I have a real problem with the lack of disclosure here, and skating on thin ice with ethics and morals as a human being. I have read more than a few reviews of the book that make the point that All Good People Here might be inspired by this very well-known case.
