About this deal

You could get them to leave your existing cables as is and just route the new power and HDMI cables outside of the TV stand during the install so that they can sign off that everything is fitted as per their requirements and in a working state. As you can see, the latter two options use 40MHz channel width, which is effectively half the bandwidth of the 80MHz default. This reduces the chance of interference, though, so it might work for you. Get a Sky Q Booster Tenet is one such 4K title and it looks sensational, with oodles of detail, crisp definition and enticing three-dimensionality. The HDR ensures there's plenty of pop and vibrancy, too. Sky helpdesk can only suggest connecting via optical not HDMI - fine for good old 5.1 sound but OPTICAL DOES NOT SUPPORT DOLBY ATMOS!!

Sadly, while you can force a Mini box to join your home wireless network it can only do so on the 2.4GHz band, which isn’t fast enough for streaming live TV, so don’t do this. Using the Mini boxes is almost identical to using the main one. The UI is the same, it gives you access to anything on the main machine's hard drive or watch live TV. The main Sky Q boxes feature 12 tuners (though three are 'dormant'), allowing you to record or watch those seven simultaneous shows. They support Dolby Atmos and have HDMI, 2 x USB 2.0, digital optical, ethernet and wireless connections. As mentioned, they support simultaneous viewing on two tablets and two Sky Q Mini boxes.

To select the dSCR settings that will allow a compatible LNB or multi-switch amplifier please follow this process. Step 3:You must find and press the WPS button on your main Sky Q product or router, such as your Sky Q Hub or main Sky Q Box. This should be a physical button that can easily be found and pressed with your finger.

Sky has made a concerted effort to integrate various streaming services into the Sky platform, so you can now browse the likes Netflix and Disney+ content within the interface – so long as you have the dedicated subscriptions for each. Very poor show from Sky!Never had a problem, SkyQ 2TB, AV amp Pioneer SC-LX59, 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos speaker set up, Musical Fidelity M3si driving front speakers through the AV amp. Mentioning as there seem to be two threads on Trust Pilot, one for sky in general and the one I have tioned specifically for sky Q. Volume seems to be well standardised across the channels, so you don’t have to keep reaching for the remote whenever you switch over. The Sky Q boxes essentially work not only as TV set-top boxes but also as hubs, delivering content to up to two separate Sky Q Mini boxes and two tablets simultaneously around your home. In total, Sky Q allows you to record six channels and watch a seventh simultaneously – if you can find enough screens.

Sky Q With One Satellite Cable - Single Feed

Sky seems particularly proud of its Fluid Viewing concept. This allows you to stop and start programmes as you move from one room or device to another, including from TV to tablet, inside to outside your home. Instead, type 001, then press Select. This brings up the hidden engineer’s system menu. Go to Network, and then you can change the 5GHz Wi-Fi channel width, selecting from: 80MHz / ch36 (default); 40MHz / ch. 36; and 40Mhz / ch.44. It’s worth trying all three to see if it makes a difference.

Setting up a Mini Box is relatively simple, though you will need to have your existing Sky Q box or router close by. The Sky Q boxes create a Sonos-style mesh network, meaning the speed of your broadband isn't so crucial – the wi-fi network itself determines how well the system streams content around your home. If you have Sky Broadband, each box also works as a wi-fi hotspot. There are four Sky Q boxes, and the broadband hub. The main box is the Sky Q 1TB, which is the default box given to anyone taking out a new Sky Q subscription. Step 1:Plug the Mini Box into your TV using an HDMI cable and plug it into a wall outlet for power. You can also change the 5GHz channel that Sky Q uses, although this option cuts the available bandwidth in half. To do this, go to any Sky Q box and press the Home button. Scroll down to Settings but don’t press anything. When connecting for the first time, you may experience a temporary drop in connectivity. In this case, it is recommended that you re-connect your Sky Q Mini Box via WPS. Step 2:There will be an initial setup message on your TV, and you will need to press “Home” on your Sky Q remote. On the downside, however, one of the biggest downsides is that you cannot record directly onto the Mini Box. However, you can use the box to record content on your main Sky Q box and stream or watch the content later on in the Mini Box. Each popular Sky TV show now has a ‘show centre’, too. This is a hub from which users can access all seasons, episodes, broadcast schedules and on-demand links, and these show centres even exist for certain Disney+ shows such as The Walking Dead and Loki.
