In the first episode, we meet Dr. Stanton when llonka arrives at Brightcliffe. Dr. Stanton tells llonka about her son that passed away from cancer. She also gives a rundown of what Brightcliffe Hospice is and what it aims to do to help its patients. Throughout the season, we see Dr. Stanton seemingly care for her patients. She lets them continue to meet up at midnight in the library after the whole ritual debacle.We even see her save llonka from being poisoned by Shasta/Julia Jayne in episode 9. Ashley is scared of revealing that she has a son... the gorgeous, cheeky little Owen. She doesn’t want it to affect her career, the career she’s worked so hard to forge despite being a single mum. Initially she makes out that she doesn’t know Cameron but she can’t help the pull she feels towards him. Would he still want her if he knew she had a child? I’ve read all the Stanton series including Marx Girl and Gym Junkie and all the way through those I have had a very soft spot for Cameron. Once you start reading her books you'll become a junkie just like me! I received an ARC of this book because when given the chance I jumped on it! Dr. Stanton’s specific area of interest in the GI field is in colon cancer screening and prevention.
