Characters: Arlo was just about the most relatable person ever. She was unsure of herself, her powers, and her standing in the world. Nausicaä. WOW. I feel like Vehan and Aurelian weren’t the main focus of the story, but their perspectives did add important information for the plot. As the rich world she’s created unfolds around us, readers get to experience everything from the faerie grey-market hidden within a human shopping mall to the secretive club known as “The Faerie Ring”, where pretty much anything goes. It is SO IMPORTANT that we read and support queer authors, and queer spec-fic holds an infinitely soft space in my heart.
