The remote is a similar effort to previous and a slight improvement as it doesn’t attempt to cram as many buttons into a small space. Features The Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED Series TV comes with various connectivity options, making it easy to connect to other devices. The TV has four HDMI ports, two USB ports, and an Ethernet port. The HDMI ports allow you to connect gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, or other devices. The USB ports allow you to connect a USB or external hard drive to play your favorite movies and TV shows. The Ethernet port allows you to connect to the internet using a wired connection, providing a more stable and reliable connection. Second, the 55A7GQ’s upscaling of sub-4K sources is rather basic. On the upside, the upscaling does quite well at making pictures look sharp, adding eye-catching emphasis and definition to lines, edges and textures. Unfortunately though, the upscaling seems to make little if any effort to distinguish source noise from real image information, and so ends up sharpening and emphasising noise as well as ‘real’ image information. It also tends to over-exaggerate grain. Let’s cut to the chase: the 55A7GQ’s picture quality turns out to be hugely disappointing, especially as it arrives amid a generally upward trajectory for Hisense TVs.
For audio there’s DTS:Virtual:X for adding a bit more size through virtual processing, while for sports and gaming you’re covered by dedicated modes. and features dedicated sport and game modes.For HDR it appears to be just HLG, so you can HDR content on iPlayer. Second, while the 55A7GQ’s colours are routinely impacted by the screen’s inescapable grey overwash, there’s enough subtlety in the way blends and tones are presented to reveal that the TV’s core colour processing is pretty good, in keeping with other Hisense TVs we’ve seen recently.
Design, Connections and Control
The TV does not feature a One Connect Box, which may make cable management more difficult for some users The A9G is Hisense’s first OLED since the O8B from 2019. The Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED Series TV does not feature an 8K resolution. However, Hisense does offer 8K TVs in their product lineup, such as the Hisense U8GQ 8K ULED TV. 8K Resolution provides even more detail and clarity than 4K, but it’s worth noting that there is limited content available in 8K Resolution. Additionally, 8K TVs have a higher price tag, so it’s important to consider whether the additional Resolution is worth the investment. You'll get colourful, sharp picture quality even though the HDR brightness could be better. And the design of the set will look smart in your living room. It's a shame that the sound isn't quite up to par, but that’s easily solved by hooking up a separate soundbar. The top-left app on the home screen is Netflix, and it’s rather odd that it’s the only app whose position you can’t change. The TV has a wide viewing angle, allowing you to view the screen from almost any angle without losing color, accuracy, or contrast. This makes it an excellent choice for family movie nights, where everyone can gather around the TV and enjoy the show.
