About this deal

You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail.

By nature, classical guitars have to be tuned more frequently due to the nylon strings which stretch out more often. But true to Yamaha’s legacy, the tuning pegs are easy to adjust and they last for a really long time. That is so useful if you do not know yet how the whole tuning system on classic guitars works. A beginner’s guitar should be the right size and easy to play. If the guitar is too hard to play, a beginner is more likely to give up. So, overall for the price I think its a nice little guitar...I got the bundle with the soft case - but I am sure if you are serious about this kind of stuff, this will not last very long, I would aim higher. Services Guitar Workshop Electronic Repairs Workshop Music Store Events & Workshops Piano Showroom Music Lessons Recording Studio The C40MII is the all matt finish variation of one of Yamaha's most inexpensive full-size classical models, C40II. An ultra-thin natural satin finish create a rich, natural sound and incredible feel.Thank you for your interest in the C40 Classical Guitar. Generally, classical guitars are played without plectrums - instead classical guitarists usually play with their fingers directly on the strings. Beginner guitarists need a low-cost instrument that is durable, yet easy to play. The C40 is Yamaha’s solution to this demanding set of criteria.

With a sound and feel that is way above the humble price tag, Yamaha's C40 classical guitar is understandably the first choice for students of classical technique everywhere. Schools love it, teachers love it and those with a burgeoning interest in all things nylon strung love it because they can dip a tow into the classical world and score themselves a good guitar without spending a large sum of money. The action on the C40 is about 4mm at the 12th fret. I find this a little high although it is around average for many classical guitars. The C40 is still playable, but a higher action makes pressing the strings down harder on the fingers. This can discourage beginners. Ultimately, we believe the famous saying “you get what you pay for” rings true for the Yamaha C40. These are one of the most affordable instruments on the market right now, and that did not happen by accident. Yamaha had to cut some corners when making this product. No one denies that the instrument is cheap, mass-produced and unsuitable for professional musicians. But, the guitar sounds better than anything something with a plywood interior has a right to at its price. The C45K might be one of Yamaha's most inexpensive full-size classical models, but has outstanding quality and tone. This model is the perfect entry to classical guitar. In fact, the C40’s low price and consistent quality has made it one of the most popular nylon string guitars in the world. It is a favorite among guitar teachers and their students. The C40 is the guitar that thousands of students around the world have learned to play on over many years. It’s hard to argue with its success. Yamaha C40 technical specifications If you are a curious experienced guitar player that wants to try their hand at a classical version of the instrument, then buy the Yamaha C40. You may outgrow it in a year or two if you keep up the practice, but the guitar’s affordable price means you can upgrade easily, or decide it is not for you without suffering a financial loss. Once again, Yamaha impress with the level of detail they can cram into this low price point: you'll get a comfortable guitar with good tuners and a sweet tone that encourages you to play. The 2 ply body construction ensures a robustness that allow your technique to grow unhindered. Wonderful product, crisp sound, good build, did not struggle to replace guitar strings and found all included accessories were made to a high quality.

This hugely improves the resonance (and therefore the warmth and richness) of the guitar's sound compared to a laminate top as the C40 Mk II has (where - to keep an affordable price - the top is actually made up of many layers of wood strips and glues which work against the natural resonance of the guitar). In turn, because it sounds so good, beginners often enjoy playing for longer at a time - helping them to progress. You can read more here

And, since the vast, vast majority of guitars made are non-left-hand models (and left-hand models tend to be more expensive than their non-left-hand equivalents), learning to play a standard non-left-hand guitar opens up more possibilities for the future. the overall sound of the guitar when not buzzing is more than acceptable, if this guitar was manufactured to a decent finish including set up, it would be fine. The CX40 is the electro version of the Yamaha C40 classical guitar which has outstanding value for money and a combination of exceptional playability and superb tone. The Yamaha C40 comes pre-strung with nylon strings, perfect for achieving that warm and mellow classical guitar sound. Nylon strings are not only gentle on your fingers, making them ideal for beginners, but they also produce a rich and expressive tone that is suitable for a wide range of musical genres. Specifications Body & Bridge The C40’s dimensions are similar to other nylon string guitars in the beginner price range, with a standard 650 mm (25 9/16″) scale length. Younger or smaller players may prefer the 7/8, 3/4 or 1/2 size models, which are readily available. A relatively high actionBuy with confidence: We're the only UK guitar retailer to offer a 3-year warranty & extended Christmas exchange as standard. If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered It’s a small detail, but adding the extra four dots would be more helpful for beginners. There are also no guitar strap buttons, as the C40 is marketed at classical guitar students who only play in a seated position. Bought thos for my son who played classical guitar in high school and who is legally blind. Though he's been playing piano as of late I know he still loves the guitar. So I bought him the Yamaha C40II classical nylon string guitar. I'm not a guitar player but drummer but been around lots of guitars. But I can play a few simple chords, so I know what a good and bad guitar sounds & looks like construction wise. This guy is excellent to start off with, it's a full scale so if you have small or petite hands I suggest you move down to 3/4 scale.
