About this deal

I've also noticed she is quite harsh and realistic about how bad adults can be at parenting and I'm not sure what I think about this yet.

After all, he knew what grown-ups were like. They spoiled things with logic. And Rio didn't need logic right now. He just needed hope. I always try to do my writing in the morning, otherwise I'll just talk myself out of it. My new favourite spot is on the sofa in our conservatory where there's lots of plants and natural sunlight. I like my writing zone to be gentle and soft. Sometimes my cat will sit beside me to keep me company and then get annoyed when I am not giving her enough fuss! Rio debe mudarse a causa de su abuela debido a que su madre debe ser ingresada por su salud mental. En la costa californiana se encontrará con las ballenas y descubrirá un don que cambiará su vida. Perfect for readers of 8+, beautifully illustrated throughout by Levi Pinfold - winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal and illustrator of Harry Potter 20th anniversary edition covers. About This Edition ISBN: The author's passion for the natural world currently under threat makes their book outstanding' New Statesman, Best Children's Books of the YearWith passionate and lyrical descriptions of the sea and whales, this novel takes us through Rio's emotional journey from a traumatised outsider to someone who knows his strengths and his place in the world. As he cares for Whitebeak, he comes to understand more about how he has cared for his mother in the past, what he can achieve and what he cannot.

An absolutely beautiful story of love, loss, hope and passion told through the eyes of the young, the determined, those who know change must happen. Rio tells his story and shares his pain whilst living with his mum and her mental health issues. But a change must come. So by moving to California to live with his grandmother, Rio learns of the horrifying effects of human activity that is threatening our planet alongside his own bravery to find his own strength to strive for change. Rio takes us on a wonderful adventure to save ‘White Beak’ whilst saving himself from the guilt and heartfelt loss of being away from his mum and his home. This was not a casual thing. This was a relationship. This was two-way playfulness and trust. There was no shared language, but there was communication.” My next book is currently A Top Secret! All I can say is that yes, there will be similar environmental themes so watch this space!

Doing a bit of extra research about them (L-pod) spoiled the ending somewhat. I found Luna's name and saw that he died in 2006. I don't know why I was expecting a happy ending (or at least a happier one), but I was. The way Luna dies is really tragic and hard to come to terms with. I had to steel myself for reading the rest of the book. Let's start like this. If the stars went from -5 to 5, I would give it -10. If the only thing keeping me from going to hell was a good rating and review of this book, I would suffer eternal torment. If God himself told me this was the best book in the world, I would laugh at him. There is nothing good about it.

After producing 2 movies: 'Saving Luna' and 'The Whale', Michael Parfit and Suzanne Chisholm have come out with yet another masterpiece about Luma the whale.

Hannah Gold is so good at describing a magical bond between a child and an animal! It's such a good kind of fairytale and had I been a child, this book would have endlessly inspired me to save the world.Magnificent! The Lost Whale will lift your heart as high as the ocean is deep' Piers Torday, author of The Last Wild Kudos to the author, Hannah Gold for her successfully weaving a beautiful, inspiring and eye-opening story by blending extremely well two important issues, that are mental health illness and ocean conservations through this story.
