About this deal

Finish: Short. A reprise of the palate notes, but with a bit of mouth-drying tannin and a wash of mild bitterness. Gone in an instant.

The Scotch opens sweet, then dry and with minimal smoke. Licorice notes can also be perceived here. All in all, the composition reminds us of suede care products. The flavours are very defined, slightly oily and wonderfully rounded. Finish You are responsible for all activities through your account. I would highly recommend making a visit to this distillery over others as it has a more intimate / boutique feel! Peaches and cream. Bowls full of it. Yep. Really. The sweet juicy orangey fruit flavours and a soft texture and creamy vanilla. It’s not all sweetness though as there a grassy/hay flavour in there and a little oak spice – particularly nutmeg, cinnamon and candied ginger. A teeny tiny touch of smoke there maybe too? According to Tripadvisor travellers, these are the best ways to experience Royal Lochnagar Distillery: RL 12 is very light and smooth, may not be for the fans of the Island malts, there is a just enough depth to keep me interested. Even through the distillery itself was closed for maintenance and the tour had to be covid secure, our host Eric did a wonderful job of making our visit very memorable.

Nice, full and fruity smells coming out of the glass to begin with. Lovely malt aromas. Barley sugars. Orange zest is the predominant fruit. Specifically it brings to mind blood oranges. In the fruit bowl there also appears to be grapefruit (both sweet and sour), raisins and toffee apples. With a bit of that time, that note is joined by some creaminess wand becomes more of a milk chocolate note. Adding those flavours together and it reminds me of the chocolate oranges from Cadbury’s Roses. Maybe even the rose ones (do they exist anymore?) with that sweet little floral note. Without prejudice to the section Liability below, the Service may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance, updates, etc. We shall make reasonable efforts to inform you of any unavailability due to maintenance or updates. A soft, buttery and velvety finish. A warming oak spice and alcoholic fizzle to it but the creamy texture and honey sweetness is lasting. Like a fruit cake served with cream. When we got to the distillery we were seen promptly and as we the only people on this particular tour we were shown around pretty much straight away even though we were around 45 minutes early!

Royal Lochnagar Bottler Distillery Bottling Bottling serie Blue Coat of Arms Label Bottled 2008 Stated Age 12 years old Strength 40.0 % Vol. Size 700 ml Barcode 5000281004686 Added on 22 feb 2009 4:16 pm One of only three distilleries in Scotland that are allowed to use the "Royal" name on the label and came about because of its location near the Royal residence of Balmoral and was a favourite tipple of Queen Victoria and her husband Albert. Nose: Grain-forward (puffed barley), lemon peel, fresh banana, airy with light fruits and mild floral perfume. A rest in the glass only intensifies the banana notes. I don’t know what banana flowers smell like, but I’d guess it’s something like this. To promote responsible drinking and safety they even provided a small bottle to carry the sample so that whoever is driving can also taste the whisky - from the comforts of their own home.To mark the 175th Anniversary of Royal Lochnagar, a special and rarely released mid-aged Malt is released at natural cask strength. And on this occasion, it is important to understand the history of the 175 years and how they came to begin. Records the default button state of the corresponding category & the status of CCPA.
