About this deal

There are few projectors, even among the best, that handle 4K content well, but if you're not a purist, you can broaden your scope outside of native 4K projectors to those that use smart pixel-shifting technologies that display an emulated 4K image using a lower resolution source projection. Here are the best mini projectors you can buy today, you can read why you should choose each of them :

Throw is a big deal with projectors. Because of the way they work, by beaming an image onto a flat surface, the size of the projected picture will be determined by the distance between the projector and screen. All projectors have what’s called a “throw ratio”, which determines how big the picture will be at any given distance, and some are what’s called short-throw projectors, meaning they’re designed to give a bigger picture even from a distance of one or two metres. The specified 2,200 lumens brightness might not be as high as some other models in our best projectors guide, but the exceptional brightness control of the Horizon Pro mitigates this, ensuring that light lands where it needs to, and that even daytime viewing affords decent visibility. For the best experience, of course, you’ll want to close the curtains or save your movie plans for the evening, and bright, direct sunlight will banish portions of the image, but the Horizon Pro still fares better than most. Better still, the picture and sound are excellent. There isn’t enough brightness for use during daylight hours, but at night you get a crisp 1080p picture with punchy colours and even a hint of HDR. The DLP chip inside covers 79% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, which is actually better than some full-sized projectors. Meanwhile, the sound is the best we’ve heard from such a small projector, with plenty of weight at the low-end and crystal-clear highs. Perhaps opt for the Viewsonic M2, if you want a brighter image, but otherwise the MoGo 2 Pro is the mid-range portable projector to beat. Best of all, it offers better eye protection than any other projector on the market, making it highly suitable and safe for children.Hannah Tralys - Full-time researcher and tester at Trustmyreview - Written on July 13, 2023 Even if you have one or two good televisions, you can take your entertainment room to the next level with a home theater projector. With a home theater projector, you can get a large screen for a fraction of the price of a large TV, which is perhaps the best part.In this case, we're focusing more on the "go-to" projectors. Mini projectors can be installed permanently or semi-permanently, but for the most part, they're not designed to be.Basically, they go where they are needed. The best mini projectors of 2023 are super bright, super sharp and can give you a crisp, clear image wherever you need it.

Make sure your 4K projector is plugged into a power outlet with surge protection. Projector bulbs are incredibly expensive, so you want to make sure that yours never burn out when a power surge strikes. Buy a robust power strip that includes surge protection. And if you’re particularly worried about protecting your investment, find one that ensures damage to connected devices in the event of a problem. The sound quality is perfectly acceptable for an evening film, with Harman Kardon tuning ensuring the total 16W output (out of two 8W speakers) pulls its weight. With multiple styles and high quality upgrades in each, it's simply unbeatable. Here are the best mini projectors you can buy today, you can read why you should choose each of them : Invite your friends & enjoy a bright and vibrant home cinema! Whether you want to watch your favorite shows or movies, the NexTab™ projector is perfect for any occasion!LED: These projectors use light-emitting diodes, and much like regular LED lightbulbs, projectors with LED bulbs last much longer – sometimes up to 20,000 hours. LED-based projectors require no maintenance, but they do have an Achilles’ heel: they’re not as bright as DLP or LCD models. LED projectors are ideal for small- to medium-size rooms and users who prefer maintenance-free setup. One thing that most 4K projector marketing materials leave out is that the projector speakers are usually terrible. That’s by design. Most projectors are made to be positioned far from the viewer, so they’re built on the assumption that you’ll be providing your own audio solution. When viewed from a normal viewing distance, it is difficult to differentiate between a 4K pixel shift image and an image projected on a native 4K projector. It is only when you do a side-by-side comparison between a true 4K projector versus a pixel-shifting projector using test patterns that the resolution difference is truly noticeable. While most of the world is oohing and ahhing over 4K TVs, many home theatre enthusiasts are pushing the envelope even further by building their home entertainment centres with 4K home theatre projectors.

The Horizon Pro is a projector that fares best with the best sources. 4K HDR content looks great here, with a detailed, cinematic picture to really elevate those late-night movie sessions. It's compact, weighing just 1.5 kilos. It's an attractive device, and image quality is more than adequate for outdoor movie nights. Its 9,000 lumens of brightness give it plenty of sparkle, especially in the dark, and its contrast is more than adequate.Grab one that’s longer than you think you’ll need. It never hurts to have the extra flexibility in case your placement plans change. Audio solution The main challenge is finding a good balance between features and size. We've already touched on portability and size, but you may also want to look for a remote control, good sound, and whether or not a carrying case and/or cables are included. Keystone correction is another must-have. Projectors are best positioned with the lens facing directly at the centre of the screen, but in practice this isn’t usually practical, so the projector has to be placed above or below – or even to one side – and angled up, down, left or right. This distorts the picture so that the rectangular image looks like a trapezoid (or worse) – an effect known as keystoning.
