About this deal

Bumping this thread for one of my favorite shows ever. Watched the widescreen version first and liked it ok but after watching the full screen it’s no contest. Full screen wins for me, better picture quality in every aspect. Evolution of a Cue (SD, Disc 1, 23 minutes) – Composer Bear McCreary reveals the process on developing musical cues for the score. Audio Commentary: 'Taking a Break from All Your Worries' (Disc 4) – Commentary with Ronald D. Moore. Season Four Sneak Peek and Season Four Trailer (SD, 3 minutes) – Snippets promoting the fourth season. Deleted Scenes (SD, 35 min.) – Deleted scenes for the episodes 'Murder on the Rising Star' (9 min.), 'Greetings from Earth' (19 ½ min.), and 'Baltar's Escape' (6 ½ min.).

This Bluray collection is full of 'grain' and sound is very poor, lighting is very harsh. Especially on 4K TV's where the grain is huge, its like watching it on a newspaper. Its more a downgrade from the DVD if anything. Audio Commentary: 'Revelations' (Disc 2) – Commentary with Ronald D. Moore, David Weddle, Bradley Thompson, and editor Julius Ramsay. As for the rest of Random Space Media’s Blu-ray set, the 10-part Face of the Enemy webisode series is also missing from the reboot series discs, just as they were on the US Blu-ray release (the only place you can currently find them is on the Japanese BD re-issue of Battlestar Galactica: Season Four— available here). Also, it should be noted that the original Battlestar Galactica Blu-rays are the 1.33:1 presentations as originally broadcast on ABC TV in the US (the reframed 1.78:1 presentations are not included and also not missed).Remembering Battlestar Galactica - a 45-minute retrospective documentary featuring cast and crew on the making of the series Deleted Scenes (SD, 46 min.) – Deleted scenes for the episodes 'Fire in Space' (9 min.), 'War of the Gods' (22 min.), and 'The Man with Nine Lives' (15 min.). Another reason I believe the original series has aged well is due to the fact that most of the main characters are very open about their religious beliefs, something that probably wouldn't fly on network television today, even though the religion on Battlestar Galactica is more Egyptian in nature than it is Christian. 'Battlestar Galactica' was also very much a family show…often to its detriment (a number of episodes are a little too geared toward younger viewers)…which resulted in characters who actually cared about one another, not the least of whom was Commander Adama (played by the late, great Lorne Greene), a leader not all that different than the father figure he played on the legendary 'Bonanza' TV series. As a Blu-ray Universal has provided a spectacular set, unparalleled in its presentation; picture and sound are absolutely top notch and there are enough extras to keep any fan happy for weeks and weeks. Audio Commentary: 'The Hub' (Disc 2) – Commentary with Ronald D. Moore, co-executive producer Jane Espenson, editor Michael O'Halloran and supervising Editor Andrew Seklir.

Inside 'Battlestar Galactica': The Cylons (SD, 5 min.) – Members of the cast and crew talk about those walking toasters and how difficult filming often proved. (Ported over from the 2003 DVD release.)Another huge bunch of deleted scenes for just about every episode with a combined run time of around 45 minutes, another place to get more BSG fix. All ten webisodes are included here and together they fill in some of the gaps between season Two and Three concentrating, not surprisingly, on the Resistances' exploits. Season 4.5: The Untold Story - Untold (SD, Disc 2, 2 minutes) – A television preview for season 4.5.
