About this deal

The built-in timer in this brush is, in my opinion, a highly underrated feature. It is all too easy to think we have been brushing for longer than we have, as many of us get bored when completing a mundane task like cleaning the teeth. This built-in timer makes it simple. There is no excuse not to achieve the full 2 minutes. Since first launching, the 650 now comes in the same blue colour as the Pro 600 as well as pink also.

The more premium brushes offer additional cleaning modes which are suitable if you have more advanced oral healthcare needs or are looking for a particular programme such as whitening. Both models offer most of the benefits of an electric toothbrush without having to pay ‘too’ much for them.

There is no battery in the case, to charge the brush and anything connected via the USB cable the case has to be connected to mains power. It sits below the Oral-B Pro 2000 and above the Oral-B Pro 600. In essence it is an upgraded special edition Oral-B Pro 600 with a travel case and bonus Oral-B pro expert toothpaste Does that mean it is good value for money? What features does it have? Find out more below. 1) Features – Oral-B Pro 650 review Handle If you are always on the move with overnight stays or travelling from place to place the hard plastic case provides a home for the brush and the brush heads (up to 2) and stops either coming to harm. The Pro 650 comes with a cross action toothbrush head which is small and maneuverable. It allows good access even to wisdom teeth which are sometimes difficult to reach. The cross action brush head utilises a 16 degree angulation of the toothbrush bristles which allows it to clean close to the gum margin. It is my personal favourite brush head and would recommend it, providing you do not have sensitive teeth or fixed orthodontic braces.

Putting this to shame is the 9000’s travel case which is heavier, bulkier but much more premium to look at and touch. It also has the ability to charge the brush in the case, by connecting the provided charging cable. If this is not enough, a USB cable can be connected to the case and charge a device like a smartphone. It does too come with a premium travel case, similar to that of the Genius X, which allows the brush to be charged whilst inside. However, like the X, this requires a separate proprietary power adapter.

It is important to try and protect the brush head a little from damage as these are what do the cleaning and damaged bristles can actually cause more damage than you think.

The reality is that you could use any mode on the brush to clean your tongue just ending the clean sooner. Although the speed and number of oscillations will be different. Power isn’t normally promoted or documented as it is a small part of the toothbrushing experience. More power doesn’t necessarily equal a better clean. Your total brushing time and technique have a big part to play. Remember to change your brush head every 3 months and do not share with others. You can share the brush handle, but swap the heads. Original Oral-B heads have bristles that fade in colour as time passes giving you a guide when it is time to swap. As the name implies this mode is more gentle. It is designed to offer a softer, but thorough clean. It helps those with sore or inflamed gums, but reducing the number of movements in the brush head, making for a more comfortable brushing experience, until the sensitivity has gone or reduced. This mode is great if you are suffering from gum disease. Differentiated by the type of brush head you get– the Oral Pro 650 comes in 3 types (CrossAction, Sensi UltraThin and 3D White) with the CrossAction being the most recommended brush head for most people. Sensi UltraThin is for sensitive teeth and 3D for teeth whitening.
