About this deal

Reference: This is a nod to Dylan Thomas' poem about his elderly father Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night If they have Leman Russ (especially Leman Russ with Bolters), that's going to hurt, but you can have enough fiends/crawlers survive to kill stuff. Because the buff is short-lived, I sent Avenger #1 three spaces away from an enemy Kataphron Destroyer (they have very powerful range 2 weapons). I then fed Avenger #2 into the Kataphron's overwatch, which destroyed Avenger #2 and triggered Avenging Zeal on Avenger #1. Fortunately, I was positioned two hexes from a wounded enemy Skitarii unit, which I destroyed with the now-buffed Avenger #1 (my unit had moved, but hadn't yet used an action). Achievement complete! Universal Indoctrination (a Tier 9 technology) grants Avenger Strike Fighters the Shield of Faith, which now allows them to receive the Avenging Zeal trait on death of another unit with Martyr Spirit.

In general, to get any achievement you’ll need to follow a few rules, but you’ll still usually have a huge amount of freedom to set the game up in your favor. The developers have kindly clarified a couple of important points: to quote, “reprogramming Kastelans and building cities is fine.” (I would add "not just fine, but critical.") You can’t win with the story victory. Again, your units aren’t up to the task, and it would take too long anyway. The mysterious Necron defence turrets, designated as 'Pylons' by those who originally encountered them, were first recorded on the uncharged world of WDY-272. Rising suddenly from the desert sands, the Gauss Pylons opened fire without warning and with devastating effect, tanks and armoured carriers burning as the crescent-shaped weapons tore through the unsuspecting Imperial Guard column whilst resisting all return fire. The substance is found only on certain mineral-rich planets across the galaxy, though a close correlation has been found between worlds settled by the original Mechanicum -- the forerunners of the Adeptus Mechanicus -- and the " Quarry Worlds" upon which the mineral is present.

4. Lord Discordant

Reference: John Stuart Mill was a 19th century British politician and philosopher who advocated individual liberty, as do the T'au. The specific line alludes to Monty Python's Philosophers Song... That is, of course, depending on the points costs for this beast. But at first glance, the expanding bubble of abilities may be great for later rounds in game, and its ability to defend itself against boarders may be good as well. Understanding the Techs and Traits Involved Avenging Zeal is granted by any unit with Martyr Spirit to a unit with Shield of Faith. Initially this includes only infantry. Avenging Zeal is triggered by the death of unit with Martyr Spirit and then a one-turn buff called "Avenging Zeal" is granted to all adjacent (i.e. in a hex directly next to) units which have Shield of Faith.

But if you can make them, you should. It's one of the few units that can outtrade upgraded Leman Russ for example. They seem like flimsy transport vehicle. And they are. Their damage, even in melee, are nothing amazing. But they are enough. You don't need a huge amount of firepower to deal with Cultists or Neophyte hybrids or whatever's around your base. And Rhino are cheap and can deal with it. As Adeptus Mechanicus, win a solo game on impossible difficulty by producing units only from Sub-Cloisters. As Adepta Sororitas, win a solo game on impossible difficulty against Necrons, Craftworld Aeldari, T'au, Tyranids, Chaos Space Marines and Orks. With recent Chaos leaks however I started thinking. 85 points for a T8 unit that provides a 5++ invul, and psychic test rerolls in a 12" bubble to all CHAOS units (that includes itself!) and a "perils on all doubles" aura across half the battlefield... that's not half bad.Place the Crown on the forward edge of your deployment zone, and by turn 3 you will have an invuln aura that extends to cover almost the entirity of your table half. This allows less expensive units like Cultists to have disproportionate staying power, and the notoriously unreliable Helbrute to actually become a half-decent choice. With at least a chance to remain standing for more than 1 round. Unfortunately these plans never came to fruition as he was executed by an Inquisitorial taskforce led by Eisenhorn. It is unknown if Quixos' plan would have succeeded regardless - he was deeply addled by warp corruption and it was well within reason that his experiment could have instead torn the Eye of Terror asunder, which would have resulted in the Noctis Aeterna's devastation and the formation of the Great Rift almost six centuries early.
