Pentofuryl 200 mg hard capsules are used in adults with acute diarrhea of bacterial origin without signs of invasive illness (such as a change in general condition, fever or infectious-toxic symptoms, blood in the stool). Adults take 1 hard capsule 4 times a day or 2 hard capsules 2 times a day (equivalent to 800 mg / day). This makes the contraceptive less effective. Enzyme-inducing drugs that can affect hormonal contraception include: If this happens, you'll need to use extra contraception to avoid getting pregnant (such as condoms), change to a different method of contraception, or take your contraception in a different way. Please do not stop your treatment with Pentofuryl 200 mg hard capsules without talking to your doctor. Your illness might worsen by this. There are no data that would make a change in the dosage recommendation necessary in the case of renal insufficiency.
