use of the content you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity. Diffused Heat: Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Boron Nitride, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Octyldodecanol, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Dimethicone, Sorbic Acid, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid, Laureth-7, Silica, Potassium Sorbate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Diamond Powder, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Tin Oxide. May Contain (+/-): Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Yellow 5 Lake (Ci 19140), Red 40 Lake (Ci 16035), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Bismuth Oxychloride (Ci 77163), Ultramarines (Ci 77007) For example, the “Dim Infusion” blush means that the blush is infused with the “Dim Light” powder, hence the marble-like swirly combination of the blush color and Dim Infusion powder on the pan.

These powders are very powdery when you swirl your brush on the pan, however they do not apply or look powdery on the skin at all. They’re so easy to smooth out! Hourglass Mood Exposure Ambient Lighting Blush is one of six new shades of blush that Hourglass Cosmetics launched for Spring 2014 which combine swirls of blush into their popular Ambient Lighting Powder. It’s basically an improved version of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder as you’re getting the benefits of a blush along with the soft focus of the powder. Although I must admit I gravitate towards the Clinique Pop Blushes more (because I’m a fan of the dewy skin look), this one deserves as much love because the overall quality and longevity is just remarkable. I lean more towards the Clinique blushes because they have more of a “glow” to it, but these blushes were not created to have as much shimmer particles as the Clinique anyway, so I can’t complain. It’s often less matte than a setting powder and is finer and more translucent (though there are illuminating setting powders that exist, too). I’ve personally used this as a setting powder, and I find the additional powder does extend the wear of base products by an hour or two. The consistency was finely-milled, silky, and smooth, though a smidgen dusty in the pan.

Read on to find out and see the swatches of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes for yourselves! 🙂 <3 COOLEST-TONED: Ethereal Glow (by a long shot!) is the only truly cool-toned shade. Mood Exposure may possibly look cooler-toned on fairer, naturally cooler-toned skin (I can’t get it to look very plum on me, but in the pan, it looks cooler-toned).The texture is incredibly soft, finely-milled, and silky, so it blends beautifully on the skin. Though it seems a little powdery in the pan (excess builds up in the corners), it doesn’t look powdery or cakey on the skin. In fact, the powder almost melts against the skin, because it looks natural and smooth; very much that “seamless, soft-focus” look Hourglass was after. This particular shade has a soft sheen that gives skin a glowing, healthy finish but doesn’t emphasize pores or imperfections. It had good color payoff that was both buildable and blendable. Mood Exposure wore as well as the other shades–eight full hours before there were signs of fading along the edges. The quality seems comparable across the board from the five (of six) I’ve tried and tested now. Luminous Flush / Ethereal Glow / Radiant Magenta: Mica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Boron Nitride, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Octyldodecanol, Benzoic Acid, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Dehydroacetic Acid, Diamond Powder, Dimethicone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Laureth-7, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylamide, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Potassium Sorbate, Silica, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sorbic Acid, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Tin Oxide, Trimethylsiloxysilicate. May Contain (+/-): Red 7 Lake (Ci 15850), Red 40 Lake (Ci 16035), Carmine (Ci 75470), Ultramarines (Ci 77007), Bismuth Oxychloride (Ci 77163), Iron Oxides (Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891) I got four out of six of the blushes, reason being the Ethereal Glow is a bit too pale for my light-medium complexion (they do show up on the skin but requires a few layers, and I just can’t be bothered to layer up my blush) and the ever-so-popular Dim Infusion was sold out. Boohoo!

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when It is an equally spot-on drugstore dupe for the hourglass ambient lighting powder palette and ElleSees put together a great comparison post with swatches of all the colors side by side to show just how crazy similar the two palettes are. Unlike conventional blush powders, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush creates vivid cheeks that are never dull or one-dimensional. Photo-luminescent technology works to deliver depth and vivacious colour. This blush captures the light to create a soft glow on the cheeks. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush uses the renowned miscelare technique, and works to provide a vivid finish that complements and enhances the entire complexion. Other drugstore dupe posts you’ll love: These have a velvety smooth finish and gives a slight glow to the skin, but not as “glowy” or “luminous” of a sheen as the Clinique Cheek Pop though.
