Approximately 24.24 effective megapixels deliver high image quality, and an anti-aliasing filterless construction delivers high-definition rendering even in the finest details. In the [Snap Distance Priority] mode, [0.3m] can now be selected and Close-up photography is also possible.
The camera features a new image-control mode for creating photos that appear as if they originated on negative film. * It recreates unique visual effects, balancing rich colors with the discoloration found in prints produced using negative film. Each addition to the range has very little between them in terms of quality, they all use the same 24.24MP APS-C CMOS Sensor with identical processing power. This is ideal because it means that part of your decision of which version becomes your go-to street camera is then based purely on your aesthetic style. It's rare to get this kind of choice within a camera range, and it's one of the great aspects of the Ricoh GR series that makes it so appealing to so many photographers. The camera comes with no fewer than ten image filters - which are all customisable. Of more interest will be the HDR function, and an intervalometer that allows you to shoot in 10 minute increments for up to 24 hours. There is an multiple exposure mode, that Ricoh tells us you can overlay up to 2000 images on the same frame.

Shake Reduction and Dust Removal are two technologies that have been inherited from Pentax's cameras, which have been under the Ricoh umbrella for some time now, and on the GR III these are joined by other Pentax technologies such as Peripheral Illumination Correction to combat vignetting, and D-Range Correction to better balance shadows and highlights.
The ND filter is also on hand for stills, as is Shake Reduction, for the first time on a GR model. Also making its debut is Dust Removal, which should hopefully fix the issue that some previous GR-series owners experienced where dust would get inside the camera and affect images, and would be impossible to remove without taking the whole thing apart.

The effects of the optical anti-aliasing (AA) filter are obtained with Shake Reduction. Moving the image sensor slightly during the exposure suppresses false colors and moire. You can choose whether to prioritize resolution or reducing false colors and moire depending on your subject. Choose [High] or [Low] for effect settings.
Improved the response of the release when shooting subjects with different brightness continuously. Autofocus also now benefits from Hybrid AF - using phase detection for speed, and contrast detection for accuracy. There is a macro mode that allows you to focus down to subjects in the 5 - 12cm range. And you can focus manually too - with such mod cons as focus peaking to help you to do this accurately. The Ricoh GR3 produces images that have a signature look. I don’t want call these images “filmic” because I hate that word. But they definitely have a filmic quality. Colors are accurate and subdued without that sort of video camera sheen you see from so many digital cameras. By touching the LCD monitor, focus on the specified [Snap Focus Distance] then release the shutter. Crop] and [Touch AF] can be registered to [ADJ Mode Setting] of the C 2 [Customize Control] menu in the [Customize Settings].They say the best camera is the one you have with you - should you take the GR III on your next excursion? Anyway, because of that, the most common f-stop is probably going to be f/8. However, the one use case where this camera could use a faster lens is in night photography. Otherwise, I do not really have a problem with the lens.
