A DIY pedalboard is a board with the function of having different pedals connected to it. The board lets you switch between “effects” or sounds on your guitar/bass/keyboard, for example Overdrive -> Distortion -> Flanger -> Chorus.

One (1) quarter inch for audio input(guitar into the board) and (1) for audio output (cable from side of board to the amp). The process of making your pedalboard can be a fun and creative project, and it’s a great way to save money. 2. What is the design of DIY Pedalboard?

Now you’ve chosen a platform to hold all of your pedals, you need to think about how you’re going to fasten them to that board to prevent them from moving around during transportation. SIZING: Step 1 is ALWAYS: determine your size; the type and/or style of pedalboard doesn’t matter. Lay all your pedals out accounting for power & patch cables. Also remember, your an addict and its 99% likely that you’ll be adding more stuff to this board so plan ahead and you may as well make it future proof with an extra 8-12″ of width ;-D The plan was to cover the top boards with carpet tiles and drop them into the frame, so I had to glue lengths of baton onto the inside edges of the frame to support the board. The batons also had to be glued at a depth that would allow the top of the carpet tile to be level with the top edges of the frame.

Wherever possible, try to hide the cables underneath the pedalboard as this will make everything look much neater and easier to work with. Pumaboards’ basic design has remained consistent through the years, with the mission of providing musicians with a solution for transporting and arranging their pedals.

Pedalboards can be designed differently but are generally made up of individual pedals in various shapes and sizes, allowing you to connect your guitar and different audio cords. All of the outputs can run either 9 or 12 volts and have protection features built into each output. With the joints cut, it’s always a good idea to do a dry assembly before using glue. However, beyond the basic function of a pedalboard, Pumaboards also wanted to provide their customers with something that looks great.Captive nuts have spikes on the bottom to hold them in place. Drill holes in your support batons to accommodate the captive nuts and tap them into place. You might find a dab of epoxy glue will help to keep them fixed. Run your guitar/bass/keyboard through the first pedal, then to the next one, and so on until you get to the last one. A pedalboard is a musician’s effects and electronics interface that can be used with guitars, basses, synthesizers, and drum machines.
