About this deal

Having cast aside their oaths of loyalty to the Golden Throne, these Traitor Guardsmen now seek to catch the eye of a Dark God. To this end, they make the battlefield into their sacrificial altar, risking acts of insane bravado to spill enemy blood, and perhaps earn fleeting rewards of unholy power.Keep a pool of Blooded tokens. Add a Blooded token to your pool as follows: Blooded Icon allows him to transfer a blood token from an incapacitated operative to your token pool if they are within 6 inches once per Turning Point, while Lead With Strength allows him to be treated as if he is under THE GAZE OF THE GODS if he has a blooded token AND more than 6 inches from your drop zone. Similar to the Thug the Trench Sweeper is a durable close range bully unit. Where the Thug reduces damage, the Trench Sweeper has the ability to re-roll any failed saves using the Shielding ability. When the Trench Sweeper is activated you can choose to activate this ability at no APL cost, but give up 2 inches in movement until its next activation. Additionally, the Trench Sweeper can use its Shield to parry two successful hit dice instead of one. Lastly, the Trench Sweeper has apparently been practicing at the range, because he sports a 2+ to hit with his shotgun. By himself the Trench Sweeper is easily one of the better specialists available to The Blooded, and as we will see in later sections, synergizes very well with other abilities available to the team.

For sale: one incredibly spacious Thatos Pattern Extended Hab Module, perfect for a young Necromundan family looking to upsize out in the fresh air and open skies of the ash wastes. This Extended Hab Module is larger than the ones found in the Necromunda: Ash Wastes set, but it’s fully modular and mixes perfectly with the other kit, giving your gangs more places to hide from inclement weather. Thatos Pattern Hab Module Kill Team Moroch contains two full kill teams – the Chaos-tainted Blooded attempting to overthrow the frontier planet of Moroch in the name of the Warmaster, and the Phobos Strike Team sent to stop them. You get 23 plastic miniatures in total, with 10 Space Marines in Phobos Armour, a new upgrade sprue to build them as a wide range of stealth operatives, and a mine, plus 10 Traitor Guardsmen, a Traitor Ogryn, and a Traitor Enforcer. Heading over to England, let’s take a look at the LWG Season 1 event, which had 36 players and was the country’s biggest event this year, taking place entirely on closed/Gallowdark terrain: The Phobos-armoured Space Marines are built from existing Infiltrators and Incursors, and come with a new upgrade sprue to put together a wide range of new elite specialists.

The Sample

As always, there’s a crop of new content on Warhammer+ this week. Citadel Colour Masterclass shows you how to paint muzzle burn on your gun barrels, while there’s a Battle Report from the Mortal Realms which finds the Thunderstrike-armoured Stormcast Eternals take on the Kruleboyz. Finally, Part One of Imperial Armour: The Siege of Vraks makes it to the Warhammer Vault, alongside issues 360 and 361 of White Dwarf.

As you can see, similar to Veteran Guardsmen teams we have a long list of unique specialists to choose from, along with the ability to swap two generic TRAITOR TROOPERS for more powerful unique operatives in the same way Wyrmblade do for their CULT AGENTS. Unlike the Wyrmblade team, The Blooded have so many specialists to choose from they can compose their entire team of them, only taking the generic traitor troopers if they wish to have 14 operatives on the table instead of 12. I expect The Blooded to be popular, but I don’t expect them to supplant teams like Novitiates or Void Dancers at the top of the pile, and they unfortunately feel less powerful than most of the other non-compendium team updates. That being said, there is A LOT of room for clever players to make use of their ability set, and I expect that in the correct hands they will have plenty of victories in their future. Environmental Effects. This isn’t just about playing in Open (standard) or Closed (Gallowdark) terrain (though those matter a lot), but also each region and country will have its own things to think about in terms of terrain, player style, and faction choices. An environment full of elite teams will favor taking Pathfinders while an environment with lots of Hunter Clades and Gallowdark setups will not. Originally released as part of the special edition Chaos Knights launch box, this codex is available on its own for the first time – and what a book it is! This is the essential guide for fans of these corrupted engines of war, containing everything you need to run a full army, or to add an allied Dreadblade to another Chaos force. Jazz up your ash wastes showdowns with this incredibly modular Thatos Pattern Hab Module. You can build an entire outlands settlement by combining these with the platforms and walkways kit below, and it’s also compatible with the Sector Mechanicus kits. It’s perfect protection from the many nasty weather conditions out there in the wastes. Thatos Pattern Extended Hab ModuleThere are two datasheets here to work with: One for the Traitor Enforcer, an Elites choice who can come with a Traitor Ogryn, and one for the Traitor Guardsmen Squad, a Troops choice that offers Chaos Marine armies a cheap alternative to Cultists. Note that these datasheets have the TRAITORIS ASTARTES and keywords, and are not available to Death Guard and Thousand Sons armies. Traitor Enforcer The rules for both of these kill teams can be found in the Kill Team Annual. It also includes rules first found in White Dwarf , including those to field a Warpcoven, Hunter Clade, Wyrmblade, and Void-dancer kill teams. There are a host of missions for you to try out new challenges for your special operatives. Phobos Strike Team Let’s enhance the details by layering and highlighting. Apply two thin coats of Rakarth Flesh on the skin areas of the Traitor Guard, ensuring the wash stays in the recesses. It includes Harbinger of Dread rules to strike fear into your foes, the new Warp Storm psychic disciple, 32 unique stratagems, special rules for six especially unpleasant Dread Houses, a suite of Crusade rules in which your own house follows the Eightfold Path of Damnation, and 10 datasheets to field a range of these big, angry mechs.

Chem-Breather [1 EP] – Identical in effect to the Wyrmblade Photo-Visors, makes operatives immune to Stun and negative APL modifiers. Your required leader choice comes with the obligatory 1 extra wound over your standard operatives, and is slightly better at shooting and fighting than they are. His true utility lies with his two unique abilities. In addition, when you select the Corpseman as part of your kill team you may grant one of the above abilities to an operative prior to mission start. While all three of these abilities are useful, giving Relentless to your melee specialists is a fantastic ability and likely your “go-to” here since many of your operatives are unlikely to survive long enough to need that 2d3 wounds. Once again this operative’s abilities highlight the difference between The Blooded and other horde kill teams as the Corpseman needs to be moving forward along with your other operatives to help pressure the enemy. Traitor Flenser Sometimes you really want to let your freak flag fly, which is where the collector’s edition of Codex: Chaos Knights comes in. Bursting with all the same great content, this luxury volume comes with silver foil cover text, a ribbon bookmark, and a soft touch cover all showing the proper obeisance to the ruinous powers. Chaos Knight Abominant

Finally there’s the B- Tier. These factions need help badly and hopefully will get it in the next competitive dataslate. Deadly Marksman– While The Blooded don’t specialize in ranged combat this could be given to the SharpShooter who never has to leave Conceal, and is mobile enough to avoid enemy attempts to run him down once he has made a kill. The latest big-box expansion to Kill Team pits the villainous forces of the Traitoris Militarum against the noble Adeptus Astartes in a shadow war that could decide the fate of half the galaxy. But the taint of Chaos has already come to Moroch, and even now warbands of Militarum Traitoris* are throwing off their disguises and striking from within. Only a deadly Phobos Strike Team of Space Marines can prevent the world falling to anarchy, and taking the entire sector with it.
