If you’re a fan of roguelike titles, this action-adventure game is one that you can’t miss out on. Death Road to Canada is funny, bloody and full of memorable characters. This zombie survival game has taken more than its fair share of time to release, almost to the point of it being a bit ridiculous, especially when you consider that it precedes the PS4 and Xbox releasing. Zomboid an isometric, lo-fi joy that will appeal to anyone who enjoyed They Are Billions but wants a more personal journey. Really needs to hit 1.0, though.

This title is an updated port of an older zombie game that I think works wonderfully on the Nintendo Switch. Zombie Driver is a chaotic, goofy and fast-paced game with plenty of gore and carnage.

The massive scale and scope of the game has led to claims of needing 500 hours to get everything done. Add to that the parkour and weapons crafting elements and you have a deep zombie experience on your hands. #2 Resident Evil Village Zombie Panic in Wonderland is a third-person arcade shooter, the Wii version was released exclusively for the WiiWare service. The Escapists and The Walking Dead does not seem like a match made in heaven on paper, what with the latter’s intense violence and gore and the former just not being that whatsoever. However, once you are able to look past its many mechanics and punishing difficulty, The Escapists: The Walking Dead is probably the closest you’re going to get to a good action game based on the franchise.A fully-fledged sequel has been in the pipeline for years; don’t ask us where it is, though. Lots has happened since then. First-person shooter game set in the 1920s. The player plays as an undead henchman on a quest for revenge. Zombies are common enemies the player will face in almost every level. The survival genre really seems custom-made for living out a bit of zombie outbreak role-play, what with the hallmarks of the genre being a constant need to find food and water while being wary of other humans, who we all know based on a thousand bits of zombie media are the true monsters. In fact, two of the most influential games of all time feature both zombies and survival, though wildly different visions of both. And while it’s been in Early Access for perhaps too long at this point following a 2018 release, the small team at Gamepires are adding new content and mechanics fairly regularly. Better try it out before everyone gets obsessed with it again at 1.0. Creepy shenanigans ensue, with plenty of puzzles to solve along the way.Deadly Days is a deceptively charming rougelite indie game that offers a steep difficulty curve and a whole lot of fun. It’s still rough around the edges despite leaving Early Access, but They Are Billions is still one of the best zombie games around.
