About this deal

Tonearm: Universal type S-shape tonearm, Gimbal-supported type bearing structure, Static balance type The layout is very traditional and old-school turntablists will have an easy time getting use to the PLX-1000, no problem. The tonearm is excellent, in terms of both usability and isolation. The geometry appears to be almost identical to that of a 1200, and the extra isolating material inside the arm, combined with the large amount of isolation in the base, made for pleasing results when tested in a club booth. Not remarkably better than a 1200 in the same booth, but then the 1200 was always pretty astonishing in that regard anyway, despite it’s hifi roots. Some people are paying more for less but it only looks like they are getting more. I love this Product. You will too. The high-torque direct drive system installed within the PLX-1000 turntable is sturdy, hard-wearing and offers stable rotation. A direct drive is a system that connects the motor and turntable directly. The turntable can provide a starting torque (strength of rotational force) of 4.5kg.cm minimum and can achieve a fixed rotation speed of 33⅓ rpm in 0.3 seconds. Top-quality sound output

I got the PLX for deep focused listening to my records just below medium levels. Wow & Flutter on the PLX-1000 is like ten times lower than some brands in this same price range and I can hear the difference. Wow & Flutter should not be such a distraction that you have to try to ignore it just to get to the music consciously or subconsciously. Of course, a little equipment is included. This includes a headshell and of course an adapter for 7″ singles. There is also a thin slipmat and a slipmat pad made of plastic foil. One or the other may still know the meaning of this, many years ago this was a correct and at the same time useful trend. Plastic sheeting or newspaper cut to fit was placed under the slipmat to reduce friction between it and the turntable.

How to troubleshoot and fix problems with the PLX-500

Pioneer PLX-1000 Specifications In conclusion, the Pioneer PLX-1000 undoubtedly lives up to its reputation as a top-tier turntable for vinyl enthusiasts and professional DJs alike. Its robust construction, precision engineering, and user-friendly features make it a formidable contender in the market. The attention to detail in its design ensures an optimal listening experience with minimal distortion and vibrations. The tonearm weight is made of metal and has a scaled plastic adjustment wheel on the front. In addition, the rear end of the tonearm has a scale. Equipment & Connections

The body is heavy and provides a secure base for the platter and tonearm, so the PLX-1000 is not easily ruffled. The components make a decent impression at every point, no component looks like a cost saver. The (already often mentioned) start-stop button and the really smoothly running pitch fader would certainly be positive. Head To Head:

The Pioneer Pro DJ PLX-1000 direct-drive turntable offers the kind of performance that has DJs retiring their classic rigs. Its high-torque platter gets up to speed and stable in under a third of a second, making hot starts and scratches as precise as any turntable we've seen at Sweetwater. Three tempo ranges and a reset button makes beat matching incredibly flexible. What's more, few Hi-Fi turntables can compete with the sound of the PLX-1000, which offers magnificent clarity and next to no noise. Pioneer even eliminated sound of the PLX-1000's Start/Stop button. As for regular DJs, should you buy the PLX? If you already have a pair of Technics (or Super OEMs) that you are happy with, then no, you shouldn’t. It’s not like you’ll practice at home on those, then play at a club with PLXs and get thrown off your game. You’ll be just fine. And there are really no features (save for the expanded pitch range options) which will make any difference to your sets. Enough written about looks and functions, let the Pioneer PLX-1000 show what it can do. Since its functions were kept very classic, it can’t do a lot, but hopefully very well. Functions & Adjustment The pitch range has already been mentioned and where there are three displays, there are probably three selection options: ±8%, 16% and ±50% are available to the user, switchable via a naturally illuminated “Tempo Range” button.

It feels very stable and reliable, with a quality build and components. The build quality looks like it will hold up for many sessions as the arm looks sturdy and all the connectors and controls feel solid. Even when turning it on and off, the platter is consistent in its speed. It's not so enjoyable to those of us who can detect wow & flutter in our music so I gave it to my son because if he can't hear the level of wow & flutter I did then I guess he will be happy. To those of us who love and know great sound...
