The Asus MB16ACE connects to your laptop via USB-C or HDMI (both cables and a mains adapter are supplied in the box) and comes with a case that props it up at various angles, a bit like an iPad case.

It goes perfectly with my QuadStation Traveler laptop (google it) and i use 2 of them with my laptop. Brightness: One of the few things you’ll be able to tweak on a portable monitor, brightness is measured in candela per metres squared (cd/m²) or nits, so keep an eye out for those. If you’re on the go a lot you’ll want something that can exceed 300 nits to counteract sitting in direct sunlight.
In our color testing in Standard mode, the MB16ACE covered 69.8 percent of the sRGB color space, with nearly identical results (69.7 percent) in sRGB mode. (See the chromaticity chart below.). That effectively matches what we saw from the Asus ZenScreen Touch, which hit 69.1 percent of sRGB in Standard mode. I use it with a MacBook Pro 16" and the size of this display is just similar enough to where it looks almost pretty much the same as my primary screen. Granted, the resolution is lower and the only way to control brightness is through the hardware buttons which could be easier to use. The protective outer shell is a bit confusing to figure out at first but once you do it's easy to use. Ports: Most modern portable monitors use USB-C for power and video transmission, so if your laptop, PC, smartphone or tablet relies on other forms of connector, you’ll have to take that into account. If not USB-C, the monitor may have microUSB or even mini-HDMI ports for video and power transmission.

Colour reproduction is disappointing with sRGB coverage of 57.5% but otherwise, this is a fantastic solution for those who don’t have space for a full-size desktop monitor. The ZenScreen Go had slightly better sRGB coverage (72.7 percent), while the ZenScreen Go turned in 69.1 percent. The Asus monitors were better than the AOC I1601FWUX, which covered only 61.4 percent of the sRGB space, and slightly better than the Lepow 15.6-Inch Portable USB-C Monitor, which covered 65.4 percent. The only portable monitor we've tested lately that did substantially better is the Lenovo ThinkVision M14, which covered 97 percent of sRGB. (We generally look for at least 95 percent sRGB coverage in desktop monitors.) Portable monitors are usually 14in-17in in size (that’s measured diagonally across the screen). You might want to match the screen size to that of your laptop/tablet, if you’re using one, but otherwise it’s just a question of budget and requirements. Even 17in is small enough to work on the go, however. What other specifications should I look out for?
