Please don’t get me wrong: I’m not trying to lazily paint all seniors as inept. Rather, I’m saying there’s a broad distribution of abilities. Automatically put your phone in loudspeaker mode (an alarm will sound to alert anyone nearby to assist) So, there aren’t that many great options. But how does the Emporia SMART.5 fare? Poking and Prodding the Emporia SMART.5 What makes this phone unique is the interactive smart cover that allows you to use certain features like answering a call or making a call. The cover also allows you to set your favourite most used functions without having to open the cover of your phone. This is ideal as it prevents accidental calls or even mistakes when on a call we all dialled a number with our ear by error.

The Emporia SMART.5 is definitely a great device for the senior market and even makes the phone look less like a senior phone and more like a device I would consider being in my mid-30s based on the design.

This Emporia handsets 4G compatibility and Octa-core processor is a powerful duo that aims to give users a seamless performance with every use. Two features we especially liked for being easy to access and useful to the target market were the Magnifier and torch. What you look for in a simple phone is very different to a smartphone, particularly as simple phones are typically geared towards older phone users and those who need a cheap emergency handset. It works on Android (and comes loaded with Android 10), but the main attractions of this phone are found within its simplicity.

The S5 has all the basic features you'd expect from a smartphone, yet it's designed for older people to handle comfortably.
