The Sound Blaster Pro 2 MCV, CT5330, was a version created for IBM PS/2 model 50 and higher and their MicroChannel bus. Personally, when I tested the Sound Blaster AE-7 and listen some music, I use the direct mode with my planar headphones. Direct mode gives you audio in its purest form that is directly from the source. No audio effects are applied, so you only hear how the record or audio is intended to sound like. PCI and PCIe sound cards are internal cards that have to be mounted inside your PC case. They use PCI or PCIe ports on the motherboard with most modern sound cards opting for PCIe interface because PCI ports are all but dead on modern motherboards. They offer lower latency than USB cards, at least on paper, and offer better sound quality since they can use more power from the PCIe port. Gaming Vs.
