About this deal

Make sure when you set the rail, the grip strips aren't causeing the rail to bind on the work surface.

Previously I had made my own plywood square which has been incredibly accurate. I have attached to a Benchdogs fence to that one, allowing repeat cuts out to 1.2m but it is a bit cumbersome. That out of the way, where are you located? Asking because at times a second set of eyes helps. If you're near Colorado Springs or Northwest Indiana you're welcome to come by the shops and we'll see if we can help. Does this all sound too easy? Believe me, a huge amount of thought and precision engineering has gone into making the Taiga Rail Square. Wim Pauwels is the Finnish founder and brainchild of Taiga Tools. Obsessed with detail and accuracy, Wim has reworked and improved upon a number of existing tool accessories used in conjunction with established brands, believing that users of the tools deserve more robust and accurate attachments for the equipment they have invested in. This is no different in the case of the Taiga Precision Rail Square. Aluminium blanks ready to be milled by CNCIt’s too easy as a human to introduce errors I think. The slightest difference in the pressure you apply when seating the square can affect things greatly over that distance. Threaded M6 accessory mounting holes enable connection to the TSO Parallel Guide System and Angle Accessory Draw latch hook now features a resilient coating to grasp your guide rail and protect it from marring It’s a nice thing though. I love the little slide out tab that supports it on the work. I’ve yet to use any of the actual dog holes as I don’t use a dog system but it’s nice to have them there. Yeah, I seem to have a lot of issues with the little cam levers coming loose. When you engage them (at least on Makita rails this is) they don’t really have much travel as such, like you expect from a cam that comes in gradually. They’re just…on, or off.

Just before I left another cutting table was made. This meant more rails added to the mix. Well, one of them (a 1080) is off at the entry end by a few thousanths of and inch. Not a big deal when marking and droping the rail, but a nightmare when using the TSO square. Consequently, the slightest vibration such as using the saw, or putting the rail against the wall temporarily between cuts, will very often cause them to come loose and the rail can slide off onto the floor, or sometimes I’m all set up ready to make the cut and I notice one is loose.IF YOU WANT THIS ENGRAVED WITH YOUR NAME THEN THE ITEM IS NON/ RETURNABLE . I've run into this before (could have been the same rail,it has now been sprayed with red paint), the guys had not. They thought it was them. It wasn't.
