Here are three new drops that should excite whisky lovers who like a taste of something less ordinary. Single malt Scotch whisky brand The Balvenie has released the final three expressions in its Balvenie Cask Finishes range in Singapore. If we decide not to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms, such decision shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. Taste: A modern classic fruit fusion of tart grape skin, mandarin & ig low together with vibrant oak to coat the mouth with a delicate oil and honeyed sweetness.

It is the first time The Balvenie is using Pineau casks in its 129 years of history. It may also be – we are almost certain – the first time any Scottish distillery has officially launched a commercially available whisky expression employing such casks. The travel retail Cask Finishes range now includes Madeira Cask 15 Year Old and Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask 18 Year Old. The upcoming Hazelburn 15 Years Oloroso Cask will be bottled in April 2022. It is a more or less yearly release, one that is often really good – we already reviewed the 2020 and 2018 edition. It comes at 54.2% ABV with a yield of 9000 bottles. The second sherry finish for the Cask Finishes range is The Balvenie Pedro Ximénez Cask Aged 18 Years. The sweet wine from the Pedro Ximénez casks gets its intensity from the sun-ripened vines, making what’s said to be a sweet fusion for The Balvenie’s signature honeyed core.The Balvenie has released in Singapore the final three expressions of its Cask Finishes range, The Balvenie Madeira Cask 15YO, The Balvenie French Oak Cask 16YO, and The Balvenie Pedro Ximénez 18YO.

The Madeira & PX versions will be in stores on 1 April and will be exclusive to travel retail. The French Oak version was transferred to Pineau de Charentes casks (a first for Balvenie) – this will only be available in the UK. The Balvenie Peated Triple Cask Aged 14 Years is the result of trials undertaken in 2001 by The Balvenie Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE and our former distillery manager Ian Millar.
