About this deal

For the musician, they are forever managing to compact a huge amount of technology into affordable units that really do sound good. If you have any B1-4 patches you would like to share then please post and I'll also upload them here (not sure I can access your B1-4X or B3N patches to physically upload here - but I can certainly provide a link to your post, for ease of reference). Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. Zoom’s latest multi-effects processor for bass guitar joins the family of red, in between the current crop of processors, the B1 & B1on models and the higher specification B3n. Get dynamic results without having to invest in piles of gear, as the B1X FOUR provides a vast selection of effects within its sleek and stylish design, which's guaranteed to assist you in finding the sound with absolute ease. From thunderous octaves to punchy, heavy bite, this nifty multi-effects has everything you desire out of a practical pedal!

Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faultyFor customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs.

I've had three MS-60Bs come and go over the years. But for me the B1-4 is without doubt the better and much more usable piece of kit, and is happily sitting at the heart of my small pedal board now. Furthermore, in the case of devices such as the B1X we are looking at today, the lay out of modern multi-effect pedals I think is getting more intuitive. Yeah sure, there have been a few hiccups on the way and yes, some units that have bigger colour screens and more “data entry” dials will be even easier than smaller units; Zoom B1 does a great job of allowing the user to access either banks of patches or individual effects when editing a patch easily. For editing purposes on your PC either the free Zoom editing software or that provided by ToneLib - Zoom are both really useful. Your carefully crafted tones need not be lost either as there are 50 memory slots to save to. That would include taking an existing factory preset and tweaking it to your tastes.

The answer probably already exists but buried in the hpf thread somewhere - remind why you use shelf instead of hpf? Getting creative is dead easy especially as Zoom have crammed in a 30 second looper whereby you can select whatever effect you want on your sound before recording a new layer over the top of the previous. Zoom aren’t just a new company, they have been producing a wide range of audio technology for musician, artist, studio and field workers alike for many years. Not surprisingly as an effects unit, it has a built-in tuner which is of a chromatic type that is easily accessed by holding down both of the larger pedals.

It is capable of doing a lot of things. For starters, it will give you a *lot* more control over the tone of your bass -- you don't need an active bass anymore to get the same kind of tone control. I agree with those who say it's not something you'd take into a professional studio, but I disagree with anyone who says they won't take it on stage. If it's good enough for Marcus Miller on stage, it's good enough for you and me. :)

Please note that unfortunately the patches are model specific e.g. a B1-4 patch can't be used on a B1-4X or B3N AnalogCho [AK-Mod].zb1f AnalChoDri [AK-Mod].zb1f Delay 90 [AK-Mod].zb1f Delay 400 [AK-Mod].zb1f Phaser [AK-Mod].zb1f TapeEch300 [AK-Mod].zb1f Tremolo [AK-Mod].zb1f TapeTrem [AK-Mod].zb1f Wah Slap [AK-Mod].zb1f WahSlapBk [AK-Mod].zb1f If you look at my board pic (on the B1-4 thread), I effectively do have two HPFs in my signal chain: the Thumpinator right at the start and the HPF which is in all my patches (including "clean") on my B1X-4. But personally I'd be relaxed about having just one HPF on my B3n or B1X-4, particularly if it's taking up patch space for something that could be more useful (or fun e.g. the Wah sim for use with an expression pedal!)

significantly easier to use interface. The MS-60B used to do my head in before the advent of patch editing software; but the ToneLib PC editing software is free, easy to use and makes creating and editing patches a doddle on all Zoom pedals and has levelled the playing field on that score. latest chip set, same as the B3N => up to 5 effects per patch (vs 4 on the MS-60B); and you can set to use a patch as a bank of 5 individual effects which is very neatPower supply by way of 4 AA-batteries (running time of up to 18 hours or an optional 9 V DC power supply (not included, suitable power supply: Art. 105835)
