About this deal

In a stunning office thirteen floors above the city below, you are all alone with the man interviewing you. I really don't want to say any more as to talk more about the plot would only give away what might be happening beyond the synopsis. Now that we’ve said that we liked most of the characters in The Interview, let’s go through exactly why we didn’t. Our main gripe is with Kate. If there is one thing more frustrating than having a protagonist who is absolutely flawless, it’s one that is presented as absolutely flawless, but who spends all their time trying to tell the reader they’re not. The characters could have done with a little bit more expanding upon in terms of their personalities, goals, motivations and beliefs, and we would have loved the psychological aspects teased in the opening chapters to have been carried through as the action unfolded. We couldn’t really get behind the aero industry being the big player behind all the events at work, and some of the twists tossed in during the book’s concluding chapters didn’t quite hit the mark in the way we think the author wanted.

It provides a model to use in the future for the continued growth of interview skills. Most focus in this book was on processing information in a better and standard manner to get more interpretation and output out of such information. Edit, [spoiler]: I'm sorry, I just remembered when he spanked her with a spatula and I'm dying out of laughter. WTF WAS THAT BRUH? Who in their right mind wakes up one day and decides to use a spatula to spank someone with? I can't even type, I have literal tears in my eyes. Miss Donna, what was the reason for this horrifying scene? Everyone else had gone home and there was no way out. So I nervously sipped the filtered water from the carafe on the table and wondered what the hell was going on. Gayle has covered almost 150 questions on software programming generally covered by the interviewers and tried to guide how one should draft the ideal solution. Kate is called to a job interview. She arrives and it becomes clear that all is not as it seems....The interviewer is Joel White and Edge's receptionist excitedly tells her that he's flown in from the New York office to do the interviews. The staff are all trying to find out if he's single! It's perhaps a good thing that Kate doesn't know that Joel has flown in from Shanghai and that the name on the paperwork was very different. Kate's going to be on her own in the office with White: the rest of the staff have gone home and most of the other offices in the building are not yet occupied.

This is my first book by C.M. Ewan and I can't wait for more. He might just be my new favourite thriller author.

Detailed and various topics on how to appear for an interview, when, and how to negotiate your salary terms. Not just first-time job seekers but also career changers can read this book on identifying your strengths gained from previous jobs and presenting or selling yourself in the market. It includes commonly asked questions, strategies, and tips on answering them ineffectively and attractively. Common mistakes made by job seekers and behind-scenes of the interview process conducted at Google, Facebook, etc., have also been described in this book, helping to understand real-world practice and to help to prepare candidates for such jobs.

I've seen a negative review of this book saying that how unrealistic it is... well durr, that's what makes it such an exciting story! Of course it (hopefully) wouldn't ever happen but then hey that didn't do The Matrix or Harry Potter any harm did it! Kate Harding has an interview for the position of PR Account Manager at Edge Communications. This is her dream job and understandingly she is nervous when she arrives at their stunning office. Written by James Storey , this is one of the must-read job interview books for all interviewees, including those who are first-time and seeking a career change. This best job interview book covers everything from interview questions and answers to interviews, resumes, and interview tips. Further, it breaks down the art of interviewing into motivational and job interviewing. Book Review: Targeting the interview process from the interviewer’s point, the author has attempted to generate positive results by identifying the qualitative factors required for the step-by-step approach of an interview. I think the author’s observation of the information coding and decoding (interpreting information shared in the resume and shared by the interviewee) is wonderful and well researched and observed. It will help many interviewers frame the interview process and get the most out of it. Key Takeaways

Her husband was killed in the MarshJet air disaster some fifteen months ago and coming to terms with his death and trying to rebuild her life has been difficult. Recently she's been working at Simple PR in a job that was almost created for her by the owners, Simon and Rebecca. She feels guilty about looking for another job but she needs to do something which will challenge her - and she's not getting that at Simple PR. I enjoyed The Interview very much. The characterisation is excellent. It was easy to empathise with Kate after all that she's been through: you want her to succeed, to be able to rebuild her life. It's still early days in the passage of grief but you admire that she's trying to improve her life rather than wallowing in self-pity. Strangely enough, I found myself respecting Joel White. He's there to do a job (and it's not a job that many of us would want) but sometimes you spot a little concern for Kate creeping in. I finished the book because the author has a very engaging style that makes you want to read along although you don’t like the story much. That’s very skilfully done! I hope to read another book by this author, with the same quality of writing but a more interesting story. C M Ewan has created a tense and tightly focused story that had me absolutely hooked and deeply invested in the outcome. Kate is a great character, it was hard to imagine what I would have done in her situation. The only thing I would say is that I felt it was a little bit long. Given the premise and the small number of characters I felt it dragged a bit in the middle and could possibly have benefitted from being slightly shorter and kept the story a little tighter. It's hard to say more without spoilers.

There is a unique and researched approach given for approaching the tough algorithm questions and how to make decisions in such problems. Actually, I haven’t been to a job interview in over a decade but I felt like I was right there in the cube alongside Kate, CM Ewan’s main character in The Interview. The result is that I don’t think I want to go to another job interview anytime soon.Kate is called to an interview for a PR position at Edge Communication late on a Friday afternoon. This position will provide her with the challenge she needs and is guaranteed to keep her busy, which is exactly what Kate needs. Overall, we thought the characters all worked pretty well across the story. They’re all presented as being competent and intelligent, reminding us a lot of some of the characters from a book like Shiver or Breathless. What worked especially well was how Kate had to try several things before making any sort of breakthrough, such is the expertise Joel has in what he does. My latest thriller THE INTERVIEW is about a seemingly normal job interview that turns out to be something very different and unexpected. It will be published in February 2022.
