And I want to start this review by saying I think all year six girls should read this book before going to senior school. The message of this book is so important and I really think that age group need to hear it. Millions of fans love reading about Nikki Maxwell and her adorkable mishaps at high school. The doodles, sketches and short diary entries make the Dork Diaries series super appealing. Plus, all the cringe moments with her family, and the fun with her BFFs are so relatable. Starting secondary school can be SERIOUSLY stressful – it’s bad enough for Lottie Brooks that her BFF Molly has just moved to the other side of the world, but to make matters worse she has the wrong pencil case, she hasn’t got a bra yet, and the whole class has started calling her KitKat Chunky. She’s just about ready to die of embarrassment and she’s only just started.

Plus je milé si zaspomínať na časy, kedy ma netrápili "seriózne" problémy. raamat polnud paha, aga polnud tõesti ka üks neid lasteraamatuid, mis täiskasvanut sama palju kõnetaks. vahepeal ikka ei juhtunud lehekülgede kaupa midagi muud, kui et rulliti tiktokki ja söödi snäkke - ma saan aru, et (eel)teismelise jaoks unistuste elu, aga mul oli jube igav lugeda, oleks tahtnud kas mõnda sündmust või vähemalt mõnda mõtetki!The character of Lottie is so relatable too. I know I'm years away from my own childhood but my memories are pretty strong. I know all too well the realities of so called 'popular girls' (although in my school it was actually both the girls and the boys who were equally mean) making fun of me for the slightest thing. And although this is a humorous book that had me laughing out loud in some places, there were also some emotional moments where Lottie is crying in bed. As an 11 year old girl myself I know a lot about the subjects and I feel Katie Kirby has captured each problem and added humor to it. From an adult point of view, I liked how her mum talked about it with her and celebrated her changing body and didn't make her feel like it was something to feel shameful about. We need more body positive talk!
