About this deal

I personally find both equally good, but it just goes to show that the older one can represent a viable option if you can find it for a great price. Final word on choosing the right Arc 5 foil and blades the biggest issue is the expensive cost of replacement blade/foil.they need to be changed every year, 18 months max. There are lots of such kinds of questions on the internet since the older Panasonic arc5 models are efficient enough.

Tip: the revision B shavers use B instead of A for the model names: for example, ES-LV9B vs ES-LV9A. This naming scheme will continue with future revisions, but it won’t always be consistent. Precisely, it can swivel up and down, left to right and also slide vertically. The 5 blades themselves can move independently in addition to that.It would have been nice to see a bigger battery inside this new Arc 5 release, but it is what it is. my arc5 finally died after 2-3 years of daily use and minimum maintenance. i’ve used the linear motor panasonics since the first ones came out. i flirted briefly with a high-end braun and i think it’s still in a drawer somewhere–i disliked it.

However, the foils and blades used by the various Arc 5 models have mostly undergone incremental changes. There is also a new red variation of the ES-LV67, oddly named the ES-ALV6HR. Apart from the color, the two are absolutely identical. At around 400 grams, it is a bit on the heavy side compared to some of the newer models in Arc 4 and 5, but still not too heavy to be an inconvenience. If you use the shaver very frequently, you may have to replace the foils before 18 months likewise if you use the shaver occasionally or twice/thrice a week, then it may last more than 18 months. While it does look quite nice, it offers little protection and it’s getting a little bit long in the tooth. Panasonic really needs to replace it with at least a hard textile case. The effectiveness of this technology is still limited and with previous models (like the ES-LV65-S for example) you could simply turn it off and shave in full-power mode at all times.

That said, I decided to put everything together into a comprehensive, easy-to-read comparison guide that should provide the answers to the most important Arc 5 related questions. The battery level indicator is a bit crude in its design as I already mentioned, but it is functional and clear and it gets the job done. Regarding your questions, according to Panasonic Japan, the last update to their 14 000 CPM motor took place in 2011, so that was before the launch of the LV65 (2013) and LV67 (2019). Both have the same power output as well and while there probably are some differences (for example a different supplier for the coil or other components), the real-world performance is more or less identical.

One of the differentiating features in Panasonic shavers is the presence or absence of automatic cleaning and charging station. This station has undergone up-gradation and the newer models of Arc 3 like the LT series and those from the second and third generation of Arc 5 come with the newer station. Ersatzteile: Für den Panasonic ES-LV67 (ES-LV97) sind laut Bedienungsanleitung folgende Ersatzteile erhältlich*: If you like the ES-LV67 better, then by all means get that one. Again, you’d be hard-pressed to tell any differences in the quality of the shave, at least to me they are identical. But as I said, the ES-LV65-S has a couple of pros, the price being in my opinion the decisive factor (in favor of either of the two). Currently at the third generation, a lot has changed in the design and material choice of the Arc 5 shavers. somehow, I feel Braun have better approach to construction of shaving head. They incorporated blades in the head. So every time you change the head, the blades are changed too. Essentially every 18 months you have new foils with blades. I can leave with that though.

If you are familiar with the Braun Series 9 9296cc shaver or the other Braun Series 9 shavers from that range, those come with an 8-bit processor to provide very powerful performance. If you are looking for something to gift someone in the upcoming holiday season or just for any occasion ranging from birthdays to father’s day, we have one great option for you. The next entry on our list has not only got looks and performs exceptionally well but also comes at a decent price point. You’ll find that the ten-stage illuminated display is extremely useful – it indicates shave time, remaining battery capacity, which mode the shaving sensor is in, notifies you when it’s time to replace the foil and blade – and reminds you to clean the razor. Finally, in the third position, the trimmer is deployed and you can then turn the shaver on and use it. This didn’t seem to impact the closeness compared to my ES-LV65-S that I always use with the sensor off, so in full power mode. But this built-in trimmer is enough to make your perfect final touch and precise your mustache and sideburns easily. Can you shape the beard in different sizes with the trimmer?
