About this deal

Not all dead people. Only those with unfinished business. They’re everywhere – I’ll be eating my breakfast and a poisoned heiress glares over my Cheerios, and I can’t even enjoy the wilderness without being accosted by chattering ex-hikers who don’t understand which mushrooms are edible. Things really take off when Bree finds a dead body in the cemetery (where else? 🧐) & she's embroiled in capturing the killer. Not only that, she discovers she's full of magic. Standard.

The reality of the war was surrounding the story, but the girls and what their personal life events were very much as paramount. The romance in this one…wait a minute. There was no romance in Dead to Me. I know, it’s basically impossible for there not to be romance in the genre of YA. That is why it was so refreshing to not have to deal with the main character focused on the love interest rather than the serious plot at hand. Despite there not being any romance in Dead to Me, there was some examples of familial relationships and friendships. This was likely due to my inability to truly connect with with Alice. Series status: There are connections to the Nevermore book shop series and it ends with a gruesome crime that they will presumably solve in the next book. This story had everything! A reluctant slow burn why choose romance, fun and quirky characters and lots of suspense that kept me entertained throughout the whole night! also the spice takes some time to develop but when it does… prepare yourselves for a boiling volcano 🥵

This was such a fun read! 😍 if you are looking for a murder mystery combined with a cute & steamy reverse harem paranormal romance, you’ll love this series! It was also very emotional at times, I felt a pull at my heartstrings 🫠💔 Petski, Denise (April 1, 2019). " 'Dead To Me' Trailer: First Look & Premiere Date For Netflix Dark Comedy". Deadline Hollywood. Archived from the original on April 5, 2019 . Retrieved April 1, 2019. Christina Applegate as Jen Harding, a realtor whose husband Ted was killed by a hit-and-run driver shortly before the start of the series I very much enjoyed this book because despite the crazy circumstances, Alice felt so real. She’s not cut out for this mystery, it’s far too dangerous for her but she’ll do what she can to help, even if it means using her childhood detective skills to save her sister. Along the way, Alice finds pieces and people from Annie’s new life, forcing her to realise that the beautiful older sister she had has changed to someone almost unrecognisable. I appreciated that it's pretty clear whodunnit, and that's not where the mystery lies. The mystery of the story is the motivations, the connections and the how of the situation! There is a lot of action and I was always on the edge of my

Firstly, it shows this series isn't about the sex primarily, but about a paranormal having paranormal relations - so to speak - without losing the rest of the story. Secondly: by taking the time to explore and explain in sofar as Bree understands what's happening the author is able to flesh out her characters a tad more and build towards a second follow up title. Una storia molto carina, davvero molto scorrevole, che qualche volta era anche profonda (il dolore per la "perdita" del padre, le cose che non saranno mai come prima), ma l'age gap tra gli interessi amorosi e la protagonista è davvero tanto. Bree becomes a tour guide to the old cemetery next to her house and discovers the man who was just murdered is a ghost who needs her help to find his killer and prove it isn't his wife. She sets out to find his murderer and discover a few things along the way. Also, Pax, Edward and Ambrose seem to be getting more solid. What is going on? Is one of her best friend ghost unfinished business complete? Will he cross over? How will Bree handle this? At least 50% can be blamed on her, and her failure to again set healthy boundaries, rather than needlessly dramatise, draw as much attention as possible, and then entirely blame the ghosts and people giving her shit (for talking to walls, waving her arms, yelling, etc…can’t imagine what anyones problem is 🙄🙄). Almost all the characters are written equally well, DC Collet & his wife Becca & their troubles. The DCI Tamara Greave, her partner David & her relationship with her parents. The new DC Danny & PC Marshall (aka Sheriff) all have their part to play. Much of the story in this book is taken up with the investigation with Eric Collet & Cassie doing much of the heavy lifting. Throughout the characters personalities are maintained & they react as their personality dictates they should, whilst going about the daily life of a police station during a serious crime investigation. This is almost like a soap that you become completely immerse in & want to know what happens next.

A narrative that gallops along, this is quintessential Pearse that will delight her army of readers' Daily Mail I’ve been so engrossed in this story I’ve been wearing my headphones all around the house, so antisocial! But that’s the beauty of audio books right? You don’t have to put them down to go off and do something else.

I just loved making friends with the people in this book. The main characters, some I wanted to hug, some I wanted to make a nice cup of tea, sit and natter with. And two I wanted to be a mum to. The historical fiction wasn't focused on too much; just enough information and descriptions were given to help give us a feel of this time period. This isn't a touching story of siblings--it's noir, through and through. It's a mystery/thriller book with a complex storyline that kept me on my toes. It was intriguing and unconventional, albeit a bit puzzling at times. There were tons of twists and turns and I couldn't seem to keep up--a sign of a very well-written mystery novel. Although, it did get a bit dry, but these instances were few and far between. Goldberg, Lesley (June 19, 2019). " 'Pose,' 'Russian Doll,' HBO Lead 2019 TV Critic Awards Nominations". The Hollywood Reporter. Archived from the original on June 19, 2019 . Retrieved June 22, 2019. The girls somewhat change places, and then ensues the next ten years of the girls lives. New jobs, homes, men, tragedy etc. All the makings of a fantastic Lesley Pearse novel.McNary, Dave (December 5, 2019). "Writers Guild Unveils 2020 TV Award Nominees". Variety. Archived from the original on December 5, 2019 . Retrieved December 5, 2019. I've always felt a pull towards books about Hollywood. I love the glitz and glam and gossip. There are always secrets to be discovered, drama to be seen, and crimes and mysteries to be solved. This book portrays the Hollywood scene of the 1940's and entwines it with a gutsy mystery and crime that was brilliantly executed (the storyline, not the bad deeds themselves!).
