About this deal

The vocals took a while to grow on me, but the more I listened to the album the easier it became to like them. There are plenty of catchy hardcore choruses here (think Anthrax gang vocals). Here Jamey Jasta reminds me of Matt Drake from Evile, Tom Araya from Slayer, or at times Rob Flynn from Machine Head, just to give a few points of reference. Jamey takes on several forms, even sounding reminiscent of Max Cavalera on the chorus of "From Grace We've Fallen." While the lyrics aren't necessarily made up from the most complex ideas, they give some good food for thought. I cannot sit through a play-through of this album without headbanging, or yelling the lyrics like a fool. In this aspect particularly, the vocals succeed. Recommended To: Fans of Sepultura/Soulfly (any work of Max Cavalera), Slayer, Machine Head, Pantera, modern Thrash Metal, and fans of Hardcore. Stylistically "The Concrete Confessional" features few surprises if you´re already familiar with the last couple of albums by Hatebreed. It´s aggressive and groove laden hardcore featuring quite a few thrash metal styled riffs (Slayer often comes to mind, when isolating the riffs). Lead vocalist Jamey Jasta has a powerful and raw delivery, which is slightly one-dimensional (save for a short clean vocal part on "Something's Off"), but very effectful. In true hardcore style the lyrics are dealing with subjects like corruption, political issues, social injustice, and how to overcome personal problems. The band's fourth album, Supremacy, was released in August, 2006, their first through Roadrunner Records, featuring new guitarist Frank Novinec (who had previously spent time playing with Ringworm, Terror, and Integrity). Jasta described it as an "all-out onslaught of completely adrenaline-charged, in-your-face brutality". The band will embark on a headline tour this fall, celebrating the 20 years of Satisfaction Is the Death of Desireand the 15 years of Perseveranceby playing a majority of songs from both albums, along with other fan favorites from across the entire Hatebreed catalogue. I wanted a big sing along for when we go to Germany or South America or wherever, like a big Misfits-y type punk song that people can sing along to. We’ve only ever had one of those in our career: a song on the self-titled album [2009] called No Halos for the Heartless. That song has kind of become like a cult favourite but we’ve never played it live, so I said “Let’s do it again, but let’s get it right this time.’ So Wayne and a couple of our friends, who we call the A-team, came in to do gang vocals and it came out great. The song itself is loosely based on a scene in the American Sniper film, and the idea that one man’s wolf is another man’s sheep. It’s like a take from both sides: how far would you go to defend your family and friends?” Hatebreed was formed in 1994 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They began by recording a three song demo and selling it to locals. Those three songs would eventually be released on a split seven-inch with New York's Neglect in 1995. They followed that up with the highly acclaimed EP Under the Knife scheduled to come out on Big Wheel Recreation in 1995 but then was self-released 1996, and went out on tour around the east coast/midwest with the UKHC band Voorhees. The following year they released Satisfaction is the Death of Desire on Victory Records, then the home of some of the biggest bands in American hardcore. Satisfaction sold more copies than any other debut in the history of the record company.

In the 20 years since their definitive debut, Hatebreed have rightfully earned their status as hardcore legends. They've remained road warriors, touring constantly and reducing venues to pile of rubble and ash while sharing stages with everyone from Slipknot to Slayer and serving as one of the top-tier headliners on multiple festivals, from Ozzfest to Mayhem to Warped Tour.

It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since the release ofThe Rise of Brutalityalbum," says singer Jamey Jasta . "These songs are always fun to play and we're looking forward to adding some of them to the set that we've previously either never or rarely played live. Plus, it's always a bonus having Terror on the tour along with Vein.fm and Jesus Piece. This will make this tour an event not to be missed!" All lyrics are written by Jamey Jasta; all music is composed by Hatebreed. Entire album mixed by Josh Wilbur No. All Fall 2017 Hatebreed tour dates are below. Tours with national heavy metal bands such as Slayer, Deftones, Entombed and Napalm Death influenced their music and brought them to the attention of many non-hardcore fans. These influences were apparent on the band's next two releases, 2002's Perseverance, and especially 2003's The Rise of Brutality.

The Concrete Confessional" is the 7th full-length studio album by US hardcore act Hatebreed. The album was released through Nuclear Blast Entertainment in May 2016. It´s the successor to "The Divinity of Purpose" from 2013 and features the same lineup as the predecessor. "The Concrete Confessional" was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris. "Zeuss" has produced every album by Hatebreed since "The Rise of Brutality (2003)". Ultratop.be – Hatebreed – The Concrete Confessional" (in French). Hung Medien. Retrieved May 20, 2016. Recording the album once more with the help of ZEUSS, the band experienced a sense of challenge and breakthrough that enabled them to obtain a new level of sound. After working with the band for several years, and while normally spending his time with bands that have a fairly different sound, Zeuss is able to test HATEBREED and expand their already infamous vibration. “It was really great working with Zeuss again on this one. Love the way the guitars sound,” comments guitarist Wayne Lozinak. As time goes on, the quality of production technology only seems to get better and better, creating a safe and productive nest in which albums can evolve and end up with a much cleaner sound; Weight Of The False Self brings early 2000’s era HATEBREED into the new decade. Sputnikmusic. May 28, 2016 . Retrieved September 23, 2018. I know some people are going to think this is a H.P. Lovecraft [American horror fiction writer, and author of The Rats in the Walls] tribute song, but it’s not. After I’ve finished writing I always go and Google my song titles and lyrics to make sure that they aren’t similar to anything else that’s out there, and I always search the iTunes stores to make sure that there’s not a ton of songs with the same name. There’s so much content and music out there nowadays, and so many people are saying the same thing, but this was one of those songs where I liked the lyrics so much that even after searching ‘something in the walls’ and finding all these H.P. Lovecraft tribute songs, I couldn’t bring myself to throw it away. It’s about mental illness and descending into a place where you have no control over your mind and thoughts.” There was a point where we got word that we weren’t going to be a part of something, and there was an opportunity for the band that didn’t materialise based on the sound and the name of the band. Even though we’ve had glimpses of mainstream attention and exposure being in films and on the Ozzfest bill and shows with Metallica and Slipknot, a lot of times people hear Hatebreed and they assume that it’s just noise. But outside of the bands that I loved growing up, everything else was noise to me and I think a lot of heavy music fans can relate to that. We get looked at like we’re crazy because we listen to this shit. People say to me, ‘You’re 39 years old and you’re still doing that?’ But I look at the stuff they’re reading in the paper and the music they’re listening to, and I look at that as noise. One of the lines in this song is ‘ All I hear is dissonance,’ and to me that’s the rest of the shit that’s out there: that’s all noise to me.”

This is just a taste of what's to come and we're definitely going hard on this one," says frontman Jamey Jasta. "The speed, intensity, and brutality that people have come to expect from us is on full display. Can't wait to play this one live and see the pit erupt." Lawson, Dom (May 12, 2016). "Hatebreed: The Concrete Confessional review – vital, ferocious heavy music". The Guardian . Retrieved September 23, 2018. After landing the biggest song of their 25-year career, selling out shows worldwide, and finishing the victory lap of an intense three-year cycle, Nuclear Blast artist Hatebreed return with their first new single in four years with " When The Blade Drops."The addition of these exciting support acts will make for an evening of uncompromising metal no matter the city! The songs here are straightforward and will hit you with it's "main" riff within the first 30 seconds. Speaking of riffs, this album has them. If you are into breakdowns, this album is essentially going to be heaven for you. With very few guitar leads on this record, the riffs are the main focus. The guitar tone is fairly good, and should please fans of crisp and crunchy musical production. Dutchcharts.nl – Hatebreed – The Concrete Confessional" (in Dutch). Hung Medien.
