About this deal

Horikita states that she's lost interest in teaching them further as she sees it as a hassle to teach them anything moving forward. It’s telling that none of their classmates made an effort to intervene during the first month when those boys were at their least motivated. Chabashira then proceeds to affirm that the school had not made any mistakes when it came to placing Horikita in Class D, stating that academics are not the only qualifier as to whether someone has merit or not in the school. I would say that the pacing for Volume 1 is rather slow, but it fills in a lot of details that we miss out from the anime.

After the conclusion of the races, Kushida goes up to Kiyotaka to compliment him on his fit body, to which he again attributes to genetics, similar to what he had just told Horikita. After that, it accounts his daily life during the first month of school, as he adjusts to the new school and tries to make friends with his classmates since his friendship with Horikita is unsuccessful at first. With these two hierarchies established, it’s not hard to make a connection to capitalism or other economic systems that thrive on the same premises. There would have been no point setting it in a school filled with exceptionally gifted children if it was just a microcosm of adult society.Sudō prepares to knock out the student until Honami Ichinose arrives and gets in the middle of the conflict, telling both sides to stop their fighting and threatening to draw over a teacher. I’m a former teacher and a tutor, so Classroom of the Elite’s themes on education and equality set off a firestorm inside my mind, in both a good and bad way. They spend a lot of time going through the motions, to the extent that some scenes may feel frivolous and repetitive. Just when you think the Sudou matter has been resolved, volume 2 opens with him getting into trouble again.

The Class C students depart after her threat to get teachers involved and she, herself, departs shortly afterwards. The two discuss the value of friendship a bit more, with Kushida re-expressing to Kiyotaka her desire to still become friends with everybody.

She threatens him to stay quiet about what happened, taking his hand and placing it on her breast to use the fingerprints as a form of blackmail. After a while of talking, the conversation shifts to stopping the poor behaviours that lost the class points in the first place. He quickly goes over the rules and considers how perfect a system the school has made for the students. Tomoseshunsaku is a Japanese artist best known for the illustrations in the light novel series Classroom of the Elite.

Ayanokōji Kiyotaka has landed at the bottom of this cutthroat academy in the scorned Class D, where he meets Horikita Suzune, a girl who's determined to rise up the ladder to Class A. The entire first volume has crux moments like this and all of them are well-executed in terms of just keeping the tension and suspense high; something that I love seeing in novels. I look forward to reading the next volume and continuing the adventures of Class D on their road to the top.

Later on, the group chat that Kiyotaka was in started discussing the topic of Horikita, with antagonistic feelings towards her being shared among most of its members. I saw the Anime adaptation way too long ago, too long to the point all i remember is that whatever this Manga is, it isn’t at all what I watched and enjoyed all those years ago. Not long after, Kushida lets him know that she was successfully able to convince all three to attend.
