The case itself is made of Cordura fabric, a type of polyester that’s advertised as being tear resistant, durable, and strong. I suppose that would have interfered with the hinge, but its placement near the back (really it just favoring one side) can be a problem at times. This is probably one of the best cases that I have to keep my pens organized and everything ready to go.
