About this deal

We also found that the canted flywheels, while also improving accuracy, seem to help out with both the overall range and the consistency of the distance the darts flew.

Nerf are definitely a big kid toy, and with our oldest being 22, they're a long-time firm favourite in our house. Just behind the accessory rail is a hatch secured with a slide catch, which is for dealing with potential jams. While I think it looks quite cool, the first thing that struck me was that it is seriously lacking in tactical rails – one compared to compared to its main rival’s four. Just like other flywheel blasters, to fire, you spin up the flywheels, pull the trigger and away you go.The other thing you notice is how much quieter and smoother it is than the older full-auto blasters too. Your blaster arrives in a box which is large enough for storage afterwards, there's a pull out drawer and it takes very little time to remove. However, the Hyperfire doesn’t initially cost as much as you might expect, considering it’s the fastest-firing NERF yet – and the foam-fizzing fun it promises will make that extra expense seem worthwhile. If you need some covering fire, this is a blaster that will spray a lot of foam, very quickly and with the rifling effect of spinning the dart as it fires, the accuracy is a step up too. However, the clever engineering folk over at NERF have also engineered a funky conveyor belt system.

This Blaster does take 4 x D Cell batteries, which aren't cheap, but we haven't yet had to replace them, despite some daily use and a couple of drawn out battles. These 4 or 5-star reviews represent the opinions of the individuals who posted them and do not reflect the views of Etsy. Our existing Nerf is teensy in comparison, and the Elite Blaster was in demand when they saw how fast the darts are when the trigger is pressed. The N-Strike Elite Hyperfire Blaster is really easy to control, with an acceleration button/trigger to 'fire it up' and then a trigger to shoot. Once it is fired up you cannot help but notice how much quieter it is than the older flywheel blasters – my Stryfe almost deafened me when I fired it up after using the Hyperfire! There’s a secondary trigger you have to hold in with your middle finger, which gets the motor spinning up – then you can squeeze the main trigger to set the foam a-flying. Without all of that nasty orange plastic in the way we can get a clear view of how the electrical system is layed out. Etsy’s 100% renewable electricity commitment includes the electricity used by the data centres that host Etsy. Hasbro claims it can manage up to five shots per second on fresh batteries, and has a maximum range of 27m. Extend the middle finger of your trigger hand to press the release button, then you can use your other hand to pop out the drum. It weighs around four pounds fully laden, which is not too bad, but noticeably heavier than the Rapidstrike. Some of our vintage or prior versions of toy and game instructions may be more difficult to decipher or have less clarity. The handling is also excellent, in part thanks to the batteries pulling weight back towards the shoulder and balancing things out. The Hyperfire has 20 screws in it's main body, the four in the conveyor belt do not need to be removed before disassembly. The design of the blaster is chunky and stubby, further enhancing the feeling of wielding a futuristic Thompson drum-fed submachine gun.

When it comes to winning toy battles in a convincing manner, you will want the best features to help you succeed in your mission. Thankfully, it comes almost completely built, with only the dart chamber and the batteries to be inserted. After all, how many other blasters have you used that let you fire 25 shots in 5 seconds with no modification? However, while the inner workings boast some excellent engineering and mechanicals, they let down by a tendency to jam, especially with older, more beaten up darts. But if it fits you, it makes a fantastic full-auto blaster for covering or defensive roles in a NERF war.
