About this deal

These two novels are linked, which is I think the first time Patterson has chosen to make consecutive novels a single story (not including the cross-book storyline featuring the Mastermind from the earlier books, although this is a similar idea, if shorter). I’m thrilled that after so many books in the Alex Cross series and reading these through so many years of my life that I am still enjoying them so much. The President's son and daughter are abducted, and Detective Alex Cross is one of the first on the scene. It helps that the antagonist is also in true Patterson style, pulled off well as incredibly evil and feels refreshingly memorable.

Next, the elusive gunman begins picking off other crooked politicians, sparking a blaze of theories: is the marksman a hero or a vigilante? But someone very high-up is using the FBI, Secret Service, and CIA to keep him off the case and in the dark. As Alex and his girlfriend, Brianna Stone, become entangled in the deadly Nigerian underworld of Washington D. Now he's hot on the trail of both a brutal killer, and the truth about his own past-and the answers he finds might be fatal. Always the same story: his poor 90-something year old grandma, his children, and current partner all in the hands of various madmen and it's that same story over and over. But even he is appalled by the gruesome murders of two joggers in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park-killings that look more like the work of savage beasts than humans.

Detective Alex Cross is pulled out of a family celebration and given the awful news that a beloved niece was brutally murdered. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Jack and Jill are out to get the rich and famous, and they will stop at nothing until their fiendish plan is carried out. Being that she is one of my favourite characters in the series, the idea of her death is tragic to me. Cross is being stalked and mentally tortured by someone who clearly has a psychotic streak; early on, as two mutilated bodies turn up that are presumed to be Cross's wife Bree and his son Damion, Cross is so emotionally devastated that he's barely able to function.I have not read many of the Alex Cross novels but James Patterson has such a fluidity to his writing that It did not feel like I was reading a book late in a series. Ben enlists their help, and the two Crosses introduce him to the hidden side of the idyllic Southern town.

I was giving up on the Cross series because I felt the writing was going downhill as the series progressed and I was not enjoying them as I did the earlier ones. And the fiendish mind behind all the violence has appointed himself judge, jury, and executioner, with a terrifying master plan he's only begun to put in motion. Your payment method will be charged immediately, and the product is expected to ship on or around November 24, 2014.
