I believe the 8 I mentioned are good enough for even non-40k fans to read; pulpy, war-torn sci-fi reading! Honour among Fiends' by Dylan Owen is the fourth story of the collection and is easily one of the best in the book.

Although the adversities where cool I really enjoy the ending since I predicted what was going to happen and then the author throws a curve ball. There are some stories about loyalist marines slicing their way through hordes of xenos and so on, but quite a few stories are about Chaos marines, initiates etc. Headhunted' by Steve Parker - A Deathwatch kill team boards an Ork spaceship on a mission to assassinate the warboss. Alles in allem eine nette und kurzweilige Anthologie, welche Fans des WH40K Settings sicherlich unterhalten dürfte. Allerdings: wirklich „schlecht“ fand ich auch keine Geschichte, HEROES OF THE SPACE MARINES ist qualitativ also definitiv in Ordnung.

Honour Amongst Fiends by Dylan Owen never got going; and Fires Of War by Nick Kyme was as utterly boring as anything else he's done. It's funny reading work by someone I know: I could imagine him penning this between Berlitz lessons or after his usual Herculean training sessions, Tokyo's summer heat bursting from his shaven pate in thick runnels of sweat.

Oh there is the inclusion of Huron BlackHeart the Tyrant and it was interesting to see that every chaos space marines present on that reunion bow to him. This tale - don't know what it has to do with Heroes of Space Marines since it focus solely on chaos space marines and how they get more warriors under their belt. Is the future of the beleaguered Chapter more important than the hate of the foe that provides their honour?I do like that the main character is one of the potential recruits and the conflict within the Night Lords force is also nicely done.
