About this deal

It’s true, people usually think of France or Italy as places to go for food, but the UK has some very distinct (and tasty) food offerings, too. We make no guarantees as to how well they'll bake, but I'll be experimenting as soon as I can, and will report my findings.

Oh, and while I have your attention, in case you missed my article, don’t forget to sign up for the Déjà Vu Blogfest, which is taking place on December 16. Quote from: AyouBob on October 18, 2009, 02:35:25 AM I've just got used to using digestives and adding a touch of cinnamon. It says 48 crackers but if you divded the dough into quarters then each quarter into three then those three in half. I have been wondering the answer to this question for sometime so thank you for the interesting article (s)! Dock the crackers all over with a fork (or the small end of a chopstick if you want a more authentic look).Information and statements about products are not intended to be used to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. He concurred with me about Digestives–the taste is reasonably close, but the texture is quite different. They have a very different flavour and texture though so it’s not really the same thing (however they will do in recipes like the cheesecake base mentioned). Nostalgic Indulgence:These crackers carry a nostalgic charm that transports you back to carefree days of childhood. I’m currently in the UK and having now read through this thread, I’m going to throw another option into the mix! Also, Graham crackers have been available in the uk in the 80s along with golden grahams cereal and other related products, but they didnt sell very well so were discontinued here. A dough is formed from dry ingredients of the whole wheat flour, cinnamon, salt, sugar and raising agents. Unbleached Enriched Flour (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate {Vitamin B1}, Riboflavin {Vitamin B2}, Folic Acid), Graham Flour (Whole Grain Wheat Flour), Sugar, Soybean And/Or Partially Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil, Molasses, Leavening (Baking Soda And/Or Calcium Phosphate), Salt, Sulfur Dioxide Added to Preserve Freshness, Cornstarch. My brothers came with a big bag of tea bags, and lots of Cadbury’s chocolate, so I know exactly what you mean.

Garibaldis are cracker like, but usually have raisins, so they lack the distinctive Graham Cracker taste. However, aside from being much smaller than the average Graham Cracker, they are sweeter, and sturdier. Try eating it and you get marshmallow goo all over your fingers and the chocolate isn’t really too melted; 5. When I was growing up in the UK, we had marshmallows, and while that was a while ago, I’m sure you can still get them (though I understand UK marshmallows are not quite the same as US marshmallows).Malted milk aren’t as crumbly as digestives, but not quite as crisp as rich tea but they have a maltier flavour than digestives. Add the whisked dry ingredients and beat on a lower speed until combined and a dough starts to form - it will be sticky. We recommend that you do not rely solely on the information presented here and that you always read labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product. Using a sharp knife, trim the outermost edges of each rectangle to straighten the edges, and divide each rectangle into three (3). Make the dough in a food processor: combine the dry ingredients (as in step 1) but place them into the bowl of a food processor.

To make s'mores: start with Graham crackers, fill the grahams with marshmallows, add some squares of milk chocolate, and if you don't have a camp fire to melt the marshmallow and chocolate simply microwave s'mores for about 8-10 seconds. Sadly, and we have checked quite a bit, Graham Crackers are NOT available in the major UK supermarkets including Tesco, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Asda. The thought of American foods like Graham Crackers, Pop Tarts, and grits being shelved as if they’re some kind of exotic, ethnic food seems weird… but I suppose it’s no less strange than seeing “ethnic” Brit food over here. Finding a substitute can depend on the recipe or need for Graham crackers in the first place, but a general rule of thumb is to just replace them with your favourite biscuits and here are a couple of suggestions. That’s mixed until we get a soft dough and then chilled so it gets less sticky and easier to roll out.I have to agree with everyone above – it completely confuses me that Graham Crackers haven’t reached the UK market when other US products (Kraft Cheesy Pasta is a household name, and — very very slowly — Herseys Kisses have started appearing on shelves) have managed to make their way here.
