I loved Darla and Dacia’s (Darla’s sister) relationship and seeing how those two were always there for each other and supported each other through thick and thin and the way Dacia was so protective over her sister was so adorable to read about, and the fact that she’s a badass lawyer makes me love her even more, and now i low-key want her to have her own book! Zeno was just *chef's kiss* for me and Darla was a badass bitch who definitely grew A LOT as a character throughout the story. Zeno shows Darla what it means to be loved and the De la Croix’s show her the true meaning of family.But instead, it turned out to be these three things: heartbreaking, hard to read and a crazy emotional rollercoaster. Sleep be damned, I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning for 3 days in a row just devouring it. I went from being a victorious leader to lurking in the shadows, planning revenge on my half-brother who now reigns in my place. Eventually they get married so that the reputation of the Hill family would be stable and Darla is ofc hating him for this but the tension between them.
