Olivia’s friendship with Cara is solid, ride-or-die and also funny, and I loved Olivia’s interactions with her brother and his wife and children too. Not only that, but the spice and chemistry between these two is unreal, the banter, the sweetness and spice is perfectly balanced. There are SO MANY swoony, tender moments, which pair perfectly with the intensity of emotion and the delicious spice. His career is at its peak, his team is performing better than ever, and there’s no shortage of women to spend the night with.

If I have to read another book that has ADULTS (this is not a YA, teen, New Age/college age book) saying things like “Amazeballs” “Bestie” and/or “Catching Feelings”, I’m going to stop reading books altogether. Kaetrin: I grew up in England and Maltesers (along with Cadbury Flake bars) were fixtures of my childhood.

The one thing I didn’t like was that the timeline of the entire book was less than a year, so some of the “life events that happened” seemed a bit unrealistic, but I didn’t even care because all of the other parts were great. I generally scroll past them so that I can get to the Author’s Afterword or Acknowledgments because I like to read those too and they seem to be placed after all the extra stuff. I mean, I get liking the chase, I also get feeling very attracted to someone but for this absolute fascination to count as believable, I need more. Unravel Me contains emotional references to the past death of parents and its surrounding grief, as well as brief discussions of foster care, depictions of child neglect, and the death of an animal (minimal descriptions and as it pertains to the FMC’s training as a veterinarian student; not main character’s pet). I don’t have any interest in sports but they’re so prevalent in the US that I could hardly have avoided seeing some on TV and what I’ve seen has been boring.I have pondered hockey’s outsize presence in the genre and concluded that there’s a component of racism and classism there. When she’s not staring blankly at her computer screen or deleting close to two hundred occurrences of the word just from her manuscript, she can be found teaching kindergarten (gasp! you share in their weaknesses, their blossoming feelings, their torn emotions, their crossroads, their strengths and their hard-won love.
