About this deal

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Not only were Rhett and Sierra amazing, we have all the other Valley U couples and they are such an amazing and fun set of side characters. Rebecca Jenshak is undoubtedly a new-to-me author and her writing is quite amazing, making her books easy to read and indulge myself into. I thought there would be some conflict with Rhett's ex-girlfriend Carrie, but even that turned into nothing.

Sienna had kept a lot of people at arm’s length but I loved how she was welcomed into Rhett’s circle of close friends. There are a lot of side characters and the heroine ends up being friendly with them so you just see that bonding. Both main characters where athlete's and both dealing with some circumstances that at times got a little intense/heavy but I loved the way the story played out and found that I was never once bored. But Rebecca let’s his heart shine in this story- we get to see the real him- the best and worst of him, and I love this man. I picked this book up because I was in a mood to read and discover more sports romance after watching the spectacular FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar.Broken hearts is the third book in the series, but can still be read as a standalone which I did this time because I couldn't tone down the excitement over the hockey player/figure skater trope (! But when Rhett and Sierra keep finding themselves sharing the same ice time and ending up at the same parties maybe Sierra shouldn't keep fighting the pull they have to each other. He instantly falls for her and she thinks he’s a player so there’s a bit of push and pull for a few pages and then she gives in when she finds out he’s only been with one other girl. She’s a college athlete about to skate for the last time, and nothing is going to throw her off course. When the conflict happened every other author/character would have taken Sierra down a needy-whiney-poor-me rabbit hole.

Well actually it turned into something big, but I cared so little and it didn't seem to matter much since throughout the whole book Rhett kept complaining about her. He’s fresh off a long-term, long-distance relationship and ready to make the most of what’s left of college. But he also can’t seem to get things right- both with his ex, and with his unexpected interest, Sienna, the focused figure skater that he quite literally bumps into. They're good together and I love that Rhett constantly proves others wrong when they assume he's a player who loves spending nights with puck bunnies and has zero responsibility of his behavior.

Omg I absolutely loved this book, Rhett has always intrigued me, not appearing as much in previous books as other characters did.And I love getting characters who have unique issues and hers was interesting and just made me love her more. And though there’s little drama–at least until close to the end–that doesn’t mean the romance is shallow and meaningless.

I am always so excited to read her next book because I know I’m getting everything I want in a sports romance and more. In the meanwhile he tries hooking up with some side chick but falls asleep on her and there is some small drama there so goes to the skating rink instead to sleep. When I first started reading, I kinda thought this could be a fun read because the scene with Rhett hooking up with a girl he fell asleep on, plus his and Sienna's first meeting was pretty funny.

This was a pretty fun and easy read, very low angst I'd say even though there was a little bit at the end. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.
