Although we don’t get a great look at the Balrog in the film, its appearance is fairly monstrous and it makes an amazing BrickHeadz build. That said, Gollum does work when placed alongside the other Lord of the Rings Brickheadz, especially Frodo, you can tell that it’s Gollum. Brickheadz are a particularly niche LEGO theme, with some really ardent collectors, and those that refuse to bother given that they’re somewhat odd Funko pop-clones.But the good news is that I made an extra BrickHeadz LOTR character to fill that void and I can assure you it will have free building instructions. This Balrog Brickheadz is HUGE, thanks to its wingspan and height, and really nails the “flame and shadow” look.

I’ve now collected over a hundred LEGO BrickHeadz characters, and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. Gandalf the Grey’s broad-brim hat makes him stand out among the dozens of LEGO BrickHeadz characters. But for example, I believe you can get more value here because you get more different colors and in never-before-released parts. I happen to like Brickheadz, and have a fairly decent-sized collection, and LEGO Lord of the Rings is one of my favourite themes of all time, so these are absolutely up my alley. I understand the design choice to go with a plain green dress, but I think there was a lost opportunity here to really commit, and have her entire dress printed, or at the very least, the upper half to really pay homage to the delicate Elven details on her dress. One is a symbol of a halfling warped by the ring’s influence, while the other is the hope that the halflings offer the world of Middle Earth.

The eyes are not possible due to the requirement to use Brickheadz eyes, so they really should’ve included a mouth tile.
