The big difference is in the switch from a transmission shifting gear ratios to a transmission shifting functions.

The CV joint "dogbone" system is used here which allows the pivot points of the drive axle to be in the same plane as the suspension pivots, as it should be. Not as many as 8043, but quite a respectable quantity (note that I inadvertently left the 12 tooth bevel gears out of the picture). There is nothing wrong with this model, but these are things I might have done differently or trivial improvements which could be made. It features a supercar with LEGO Power Functions for opening scissor doors, extending the rear spoiler, and popping the hood to reveal a V8 engine, plus gear wheel steering, realistic suspension, and moving pistons. One last thing I wanted to mention is that I firmly believe that this model exists due to comments at this (and other) forums from AFOLs.Upload an Image in the specific color if you have one and the one in the above listing is not available. The Gallardo has all wheel drive and steering, but really no other mechanical functions so the supercar is much more complicated. As with most current instructions, they are broken down into truly tiny steps, some with only a couple of friction pins to install.

I think it has more in common with the air brake on the Veyron and McLaren than with a real spoiler. He spent about 4 days a couple of hours each to built it and in doing so learned a lot about the mechanics that drive a car. If it were any other color, that would have been a lot better and I would have reconsidered :) But the functionality seems great and the set looks pretty good (even though I usually don't like front-engine supercars). I could use numbers and tell you that it is 19 inches (48 cm) long, but since a picture is worth a thousand words, why not compare it using a scale you are familiar with?As a matter of interest, there are no pictures of the back of the car on either the box or in any of the marketing materials. If you compare this to more modern sets, like 42056 or 42039, it becomes instantly clear that you're getting a lot in this set in terms of functions and looks.
