About this deal

for a description of the smell, find a aquatic air freshener for a car, then imagine it 3 times more complex and 12 times more synthetic. I layered Polo Sport for Men and the original Invictus, 2 sprays of Polo Sport then 1 spray of original Invictus on each arm and then 1 and then I just gently damp my wrists on my neck since since 6 sprays is alot of juice, no need to spray more on my neck.

Both are still sweet with aquatic leanings and finish on the same tonka/ambrox base, but when perfumers Juliette Karagueuzoglou and Nicholas Beaulieuu revisited the composition after Paco Rabanne decided to bring it back as a permanent inclusion, they must have thought the pink pepper and ozone was too much, switching out for the fruitier juniper berry, which does slightly match the rest better. I am delighted that my bottle is still well about 90% full, will definitely last me for 3+ years more. It's rather in the face after 5 mins of wearing and stays like that for a long time, especially if you live in a hot and humid place like I do. it was discontinued and yes, it was one of the most beautiful aquatic summery scent I ever smelled in the last 10 years. I am still battling if this fragrance is my personality, but taking me out of the equation, I understand the hype compared to Invictus Aqua that is available now.

Invictus aqua smells so much like the original but they toned down all its aquatic and marine qualities and made it more floral. Well blended, not as synthetic as 2016 quite strong at first spray but it settles down to a lighter version of original Invictus. I honestly feel most Invictus flankers are redundant (barring Invictus Victory) as nothing changes much when it comes to the scent profile but I love how the bubblegummy sweetness is tonned down a bit on this with the introduction of marine notes. can't remember the name of it but packaging is beautiful, part of a 3 set with clones of Versace Man Eau Fraiche and Versace Eros.Which consquently made it a somewhat boring flanker, albeit -- not a bad flanker---just boring in many senses. The only real difference that I can discern from Aqua '16 and Aqua '18 is that Aqua '16 smells a slight bit richer (has a bit more "body"), resulting in Aqua '16 having a tad bit stronger scent, and '16 being a slight bit longer lasting. Take the heaviness out of Invictus, but keep its trademark sweet smell, bolster it with a nice aquatic note to give it a buoyant, aqueous feeling, and you have Invictus Aqua. Whereas, Aqua '16 isn't a true aquatic/marine flanker, and would've been best characterized as an "Eau Fraiche".

The scent itself doesn’t smell bad, I can see a high schooler rocking this scent or a college student who likes to party/clubbing and likes flirting. Under no circumstances will we ever replicate, duplicate or copy any brand logo or trademarks nor infringe on intellectual property rights of these companies. I get 90 mins of strong projection then another hour of moderate so you have a nice scent bubble around you for a few hours.I have a bottle of the vet first batch (2015) and oh my, this is the real lady killer for the summer time. As far as the scent bubble goes, I can barely smell it on myself for half an hour with occasional whiffs for another hour. Occasion -for more or less any ocasion, perfect for hot summer days, beach, casual activities, office and spring and summer dates.
