About this deal

Slaughter is the founder of the Save the Libraries project—a nonprofit organization established to support libraries and library programming. As the two women move towards the finale, the intricate dance of their journeys is tangibly interconnected even over the decades separating them.

Writing this and thinking more about the story as well as looking at other reviews makes me wonder if I was just having a bad day when I read this. So, to conclude, it was a very riveting novel, filled with unique and mysterious characters and a plot that always kept me on the edge of my seat. It’s not exactly the kind of violence you may be expecting from the author of Pretty Girls or The Good Daughter, but more akin to Slaughter’s other historical crime novel, Cop Town. This was a multi-layered mystery with many twists and turns, and as always, Karin pulled the rug out from under me many times. This was a difficult time for pregnant teens that were often ostracized in the community, especially for Emily Vaughn, a senior in High School.

Her first assignment seems straightforward enough : to protect a judge who is receiving death threats. l loved the way the plot intricately weaves together there’s far more to this story than you can imagine.I think it’s a good idea to have read book one (or to have seen the Netflix adaptation) as it makes more sense. Every time she had to investigate something new, you could almost guarantee she would mention or think about her USMS training, after a while, it got slightly repetitive and redundant. Andrea has been partnered with an older Marshall, Leonard ‘Catfish’ Bible who delights in educating his new green partner. Girl, Forgotten by Karin Slaughter will be published June 23rd with Harper Collins and is described as ‘an electrifying thriller’.

You could have knocked me over with a feather when I realised that Andy wasn’t nearly as annoying as I remembered her to be.This is a compulsive read, loaded with suspense and tension, that had me gripped from beginning to end. Girl, Forgotten’ follows Andrea Oliver from ‘Pieces of Her’, just grown up and newly graduated from the United States Marshall Services (USMS).

A farm where the two guys (Wexler and Nardo) are killing women by starving them, drugs, and sexually abusing them in a cult-like compound and not allowing communication with the outside world or families. I mostly love Karin Slaughter books and I liked pieces of her but I have no idea why she thought Andrea was a strong enough character to hold a sequel or interesting enough to warrant one. Now if that doesn't make any sense then be forewarn that even though this book could stand alone it would not be half as interesting and fun if you haven't read "Pieces of Her" first.Jump to forty years later and Andrea has just completed the gruelling 20-week course to become a United States Marshall and join the USMS.
