About this deal

I'm hoping to get some advice from you all and hopefully will be able to give advice based on my experiences. The semi protruding nails could then be pulled from the joists and the original holes in the boards used when refixing them. It only comes in one colour ‘shadow’ which is intended to mimic the dark shadows that sit in the seams for floorboards.

Please note: StopGap is not suitable for tongue and groove boards due to the shape of the gaps in this type of flooring. Years ago I had this problem with a carpet laid by Carpetland, they had to send round Servicemaster to roll back the carpet and seal, relay it and clean the marks off.Easy to install with the free applicator, DraughtEx requires no adhesives and compliments the overall finish of your floorboards. Add all these tiny gaps together and you could find that the spaces between your floorboards add up to the size of an open window. Cold air naturally circulates below floorboards allowing draughts to come through the gaps, into the room and chill your toes! Following all the advice so far, I can only conclude I must wrap myself in insulating rock-wool to stay warm, whilst waving a lighted joss stick around, and knock occasionally on tables to summon the undead (or just as effectively, knock on occasional tables! I'll replace it with solid oak one day, but just can't afford it at the moment as there is so much that needs doing.

It is always a good idea to keep a large rug to lay down in the winter months for some extra insulation, particularly if the floorboards get cold underfoot, but floorboard draughts aren’t an issue that you have to live with. I was SURE that must be it, but no, dammit, there is STILL an icy draught, and it's not even that cold outside. I think this as when I have taken the skirting off the plaster does not extend below the board by much at all.Somewhere I've seen V-section seals for variable gaps between floorboards, they are pushed into place with a blunt blade or credit card etc. Cold air naturally circulates below ground floor floorboards, and the small gaps between boards in an average-sized room add up to the equivalent of a small window. Press Stopgap inbetween boards: Starting at one side of the room press Stopgap in the gap between the boards with the fold downwards. Sounds simple but still many pit falls such as grit and dirt between the boards that either blunted the wheel or diverted it off onto the surface of the adjoining one. Even in carpeted rooms, the gaps underneath the skirting boards can add up to a significant heat loss.
