About this deal
Black Opium Extreme is exactly what you'd expect as a flanker after reading the notes and discovering this fragrance.
After I've finished this bottle, I'm going to look for something with similar notes but higher quality. The white floral heart is sensuously and feminine with absolutes of orange blossom and exotic jasmine. This one is deeper and more sophisticated than the original (which can lean more youthful and playful).
I don't know why I get a huge load of a juicy pear note in the beginning, but I do, and it isn't even listed in the notes. In this version you have that YSL elegant, haute couture sexiness with dimmed lights, luscious red lipsticks, sensual games of glances. I take this flanker a bit more seriously than the rest of the BO line (which does have a special place in my heart since the original was the first perfume I loved, even if they don't perform the best and are considered "generic") because of it being a slightly richer, slightly less sweet gourmand that's not quite as mainstream as usual with much better performance than the other flankers.Projection isn't huge and it's more of a "personal bubble" scent but even after hour 6, I can still smell the vanilla projecting from my skin. That has a late night espresso bar vibe that I like very much (though it also has some cigarette smoke, so your mileage may vary) and which I was hoping for from Black Opium Extreme, but it was not to be. Eventually to me this Black Opium indeed is Extreme - extreme example of a sad and disappointing commercial exploitation and misleading advertising.
